Blessed Are They Which Do Hunger and Thirst After Righteousness II by Debbie Harris

As the deer pants for the water-brooks so clear,
So pants the soul for God, the living Spring;
In dry and weary land, no water near,
It thirsts for righteousness, the heart’s true King.
Blessed are they who hunger, thirst, and seek,
For they shall be with satisfaction filled.

No bread of earth, no fleeting worldly store,
Can slake the famine deep within the breast;
But come to waters free, as prophets swore,
Buy wine and milk where God Himself is guest.
Seek first His kingdom, seek His righteousness,
And all these things shall unto you be pressed.

The soul, like cracked earth longing for the rain,
Cries out for purity that God bestows;
Not works of flesh, but faith’s redeeming gain—
Christ made our sin, that we His right might know.
The LORD our Righteousness, exalted high,
Imputes His robe where sinners once did lie.

Like manna fallen in the desert waste,
So falls His grace upon the humbled heart;
No striving self can frame what God has placed—
A gift of mercy, never to depart.
The soul ascends, in holy longing drawn,
To taste the fullness promised in His dawn.

O Lord, revive this thirst that never dies,
As streams in desert make the wasteland sing;
Till every chamber of the spirit lies
Flooded with righteousness the Savior brings.
Satisfied forever, blessed and whole,
The hungry soul beholds Thee face to face.

Let this desire increase through every trial,
As rivers join the sea in boundless flow;
Endless in Thee, where grace removes all guile,
The thirsting find their rest, their all, their know.
For they who hunger thus shall surely see
The promise kept: “They shall be filled with Me.”

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (KJV)
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

A heraldic banner unfurled in the sky,
Quartered in gold for glory divine,
Azure for heaven’s realm on high,
Charged with the Lion of Judah rampant, crowned;
A cross potent at center, potent and bright,
The Jerusalem cross with arms outstretched wide,
Symbol of wounds redeemed in endless light,
Proclaiming the promise o’er the ancient word.

The heavens rend with glory’s piercing light,
A royal shout proclaims the King’s return;
The Lord descends in majesty and might,
With archangel’s voice and trumpet’s golden burn.

From silent graves the crowned ones rise anew,
In robes of white, with crowns of righteousness;
Redeemed by blood, their royal birthright true,
They soar on wings to greet their Sovereign’s bliss.

Then we, His subjects watchful through the night,
Feel sudden grace exalt us from the dust;
Caught up as one in clouds of living light,
We join the throng where royal praises thrust.

No chain of earth, no tear of mortal strife—
We stand as kings and queens before His life:
Forever robed in His redeeming grace,
The Royally Redeemed in His embrace.

The Unconquerable Throne: Adoring the Pierced and Reigning King While the World Groans Under Missile Rain and Shadowed Swarms by Debbie Harris

Throne of Uncreated Flame

Beyond the curtain of our night,
Where galaxies in silence spin,
A throne ascends through realms of light,
Where dawn and vesper melt within.

Its frame is jasper, veined with fire,
A carnelian heart that glows;
Around it arcs a rainbow spire,
Emerald-hued, where mercy flows.

No mortal eye could bear the blaze
That pours from Him who sits enthroned;
Yet seraphim, with wings ablaze,
Hide trembling faces, overawed.

Their sixfold pinions beat as one,
A storm of feathers tipped in gold;
Their voices rise like molten sun—
“Holy, holy, holy,” told.

The cry ignites the crystal sea,
A glassy mirror vast and still,
Reflecting lightning’s jagged spree
And thunder’s deep, unbroken will.

Seven torches dance before the throne,
Seven spirits, living flame;
Their sparks ascend like seeds unsown,
To kindle stars and call His name.

Twenty-four elders, robed in snow,
Their crowns of purest gold they fling;
They fall as waves of worship flow,
Before the Ancient of all Being.

And then the scroll, sealed sevenfold,
Lies weeping in the hand of night—
No one in heaven, earth, or hold
Could break its chains of shadowed might.

Until the Lion steps from Judah’s line,
The Root of David, fierce and bright;
Yet lo, a slaughtered Lamb divine
Stands bleeding still in deathless light.

His wounds are rubies, open, deep,
Each scar a river red and wide;
The elders fall, the creatures weep,
As heaven’s chorus swells with pride:

“Worthy the Lamb who tasted death,
To take the scroll and loose its seal!
Worthy the One who gave His breath,
That broken hearts might rise and heal!”

Ten thousand times ten thousand sing,
A sea of voices, white as foam;
Myriads upon myriads ring
The throne where love has made its home.

King of kings—no diadem of man
Can crown the brow that bore the thorn;
Lord of lords—the scepter in His hand
Is mercy’s rod, by justice born.

Amid the Tempest’s Roar

Amid the clamor of the age,
Where banners bleed and nations seethe,
Where drones in shadowed swarms engage
And rockets carve their paths of grief—

Smoke coils thick from shattered fields,
The earth recoils beneath the weight;
Shaheds and Sejjils streak like yields
Of hellish harvest, sealing fate.

In Ukraine’s frost, the swarms descend,
Iranian waves crash on Israel’s shore;
Hezbollah’s barrages never end,
While Gulf skies burn with missile lore.

Tehran reels as bunker-busters fall,
Beirut ignites in rocket rain;
From Kharkiv’s ruins to southern wall,
The air itself cries out in pain.

Yet turn thine eyes, O weary soul,
Beyond the smoke, the drone’s cold hum;
Above the thunder’s blackest roll
Shines forth the Throne where mercies come.

There Jesus sits in robes of flame,
His wounds like rubies, ever bright;
His scepter stills the wildest claim,
His gaze dissolves the endless night.

No drone can breach that crystal sea,
No rocket pierce those emerald walls;
The Lamb who triumphed over death’s decree
Reigns high where every tumult falls.

Fix here thy heart, let not alarm
Steal peace from those He calls His own;
For He who calms the fiercest storm
Has promised: “Fear not—I sit enthroned.”

In this dark hour, let worship rise
Like incense through the battle’s drone;
The King returns with pierced hands and eyes—
Our hope, our peace, forever known.

O Jesus Christ, our eyes would rise
To drink the splendor of Thy face;
Till faith gives way to open skies
And we behold Thee, full of grace.

Let lightning flash, let thunder roll,
Let every creature, far and near,
Proclaim with one unbroken soul:
“The Lamb is worthy—ever, here!”

May this frail song ascend as myrrh,
A trembling vapor to Thy throne;
Until the veil of time shall stir
And we shall know as we are known. Amen.

Patrick’s Shield: A Biblical Hymn of Faith and the Emerald Isle by Debbie Harris

It captures the protective “shield” theme (echoing the Breastplate/Lorica tradition), the biblical focus, and the Irish essence without being overly long.

Here’s the full poem presented under that title, in a clean, ready-to-share format (using the revised version with fully original phrasing in the later stanzas to avoid direct quotes from the classic prayer):

Patrick’s Shield: A Biblical Hymn of Faith and the Emerald Isle

Upon the emerald isle he trod,
Where shadows cloaked the pagan night;
Young Patrick, captive once, now free,
Bore forth the everlasting light.

As Moses raised the serpent high
(John 3:14), so Patrick raised the Cross,
That sinners bound in serpent’s lie
Might look and live, nor suffer loss.

Three leaves upon one stem he showed,
The mystery of the Three in One:
The Father, Son, and Spirit flowed
In perfect love, as God is One.

“I bind unto myself today,”
He sang, the strength of heaven’s might,
Christ’s birth and baptism in the way,
His death that conquered endless night.

Like Paul who preached to Gentile lands
(Acts 13), he walked through druid’s snare,
With Gospel fire in holy hands,
Declaring grace beyond compare.

Against the wiles of dark deceit,
Against the storm and poison’s sting,
He claimed the Savior’s sure retreat,
Christ his fortress, Christ his King.

Christ his guard in every place,
Christ the hope that fills his soul,
Christ the light upon his face,
Christ the fire that makes him whole.

So on this day of shamrock green,
We lift our voice in thankful praise:
For Patrick’s faith, so bold, serene,
We walk the ancient, narrow ways.

May Trinity’s bright glory shine
Through Ireland’s hills and o’er the sea,
Till every soul, in grace divine,
Proclaims: “My Lord has set me free!”

Clothed in His righteousness, shining so bright,
Reigning as royals in heavenly might!

Oaks of His planting, ablaze in His light!
The nations will see, and the heavens will ring—
Our God reigns victorious; let all creatures sing!

Victory! Victory! Shout it aloud!
Rejoice, O my soul, in triumphant crowd!
Clothed in His righteousness, shining so bright,
Reigning as royals in heavenly might!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Our song never ends!

Righteousness springs like a fountain so free,
Praise bursts forth like a vast jubilee!
The Lord has declared it—His promise is sure—
Our joy is eternal; our victory secure!

Victory! Victory! Shout it aloud!
Rejoice, O my soul, in triumphant crowd!
Clothed in His righteousness, shining so bright,
Reigning as royals in heavenly might!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Our song never ends!
Salvation eternal—triumph ascends!

Verse 7
Till trumpets resound and the skies split apart,
We’ll feast at the marriage, with joy in our heart!
Forever adorned in His glorious array,
Victorious forever—forever we’ll say:

Final Refrain
Victory! Victory! Shout it aloud!
Rejoice, O my soul, in triumphant crowd!
Clothed in His righteousness, shining so bright,
Reigning as royals in heavenly might!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Our song never ends!

Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Our song never ends!
Salvation eternal—triumph ascends!
Amen! Amen! Amen! Amen!

Be Salt, Not Silence: Preserving a Decaying World Before the Savor Fades by Debbie Harris

You are the salt the world still needs,
Preserving life from rot and rust,
In a culture racing toward its knees,
You hold back darkness, hold back dust.

Not just for flavor on the plate,
But agents stopping moral slide—
Your truth, your stand, your steady weight
Keep goodness breathing, keep it alive.

But if your edge grows dull and thin,
Diluted by the noise around,
What use are you? What fight within?
No fire, no bite, no saving sound.

Like Dead Sea grit that looks the part—
White crystals, empty core inside—
You’re tossed aside, no sting, no heart,
Trampled under, nowhere to hide.

Wake up, believers, sharpen fast,
Don’t blend into the trending stream;
Let compromise be in the past—
Refuse to trade your salt for dreams.

Stand firm, restrain the creeping fall,
Make wrong feel wrong, make truth ignite;
If salt itself begins to stall,
What chance remains for wrong or right?

Be bold as grace, as sharp as light,
In feeds or streets, in calm or fight;
Christ calls you salt—live out the right,
Preserve the world, preserve your fight.

Burning or Spued Forth from Laodicea’s Warning: A Solemn Charge and Heavenly Petition That Every Soul Purchased by the Blood of Jesus May Be Found Blazing, Never Tepid by Debbie Harris

May our hearts be full of fire for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
Let no chill of ease descend, no tepid slumber dim our sight.
Rise, O soul, and burn with holy flame, unquenched by worldly breath,
Lest the charge of Laodicea fall upon us at our death.

Once the Bridegroom’s torch was carried high through dark and starless night,
Zeal like lightning clove the heavens, love like furnace roared with might.
Shall we now, redeemed by blood so dear, in comfort’s cradle lie,
While the world grows cold around us and the faithful faint and die?

Lukewarm heart, thou wretched thing, neither hot nor cold art thou;
Spued from His mouth who bought thee dear, what mercy claimest thou?
Awake, arise, cast off the grave-clothes of this drowsy age,
Rekindle love with tears and fasting, turn again the sacred page.

Let prayer be fuel, Scripture oil, and worship blaze the pyre;
Let every thought, each deed, each word feed higher, ever higher.
No middle ground, no neutral shore—choose thou this very day:
To burn for Christ with ceaseless fire, or fade in shades of gray.

O Lord of glory, King of love, send down Thy Spirit’s wind and flame!
Consume our dross, our sloth, our pride, and write upon our frame
The name that none can read but Thee, the mark of those who dare
To live as martyrs in their time, though yet the cross they bear.

So may it never, never be—by grace let it be said—
That any true-born child of Thine grew lukewarm, cold, or dead.
But rather let the angels sing, when time itself is past,
“Here walked a soul ablaze for Christ, and burns in heaven at last.”

Amen.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
— Romans 6:23 (KJV)

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
— Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV)

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
— John 3:16 (KJV)

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
— 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)

The whole world needs rescuing, Lord.
And the Rescuer’s name is Jesus Christ our Lord.
His free gift is Salvation
and a transformed soul.

Arise, Ye Warriors of the Lamb: Be Valiant for Truth Amid the Reign of Lies by Debbie Harris

Awake, ye warriors of the Lamb,
Who wear the cross upon your soul;
No silken bed, no fleeting fame,
No timid heart shall reach the goal.
The trumpet sounds, the standard flies,
The ancient foe in darkness schemes;
Yet Christ Himself before us lies—
The Conqueror of our broken dreams.

In armor bright with heaven’s fire,
The belt of truth about your waist,
The breastplate guards the heart’s desire,
The gospel shoes make footsteps haste.
Lift high the shield that quenches flame,
The helmet strong to guard the mind;
The Spirit’s sword, God’s living name,
Shall cleave the lies that truth would bind.

The Captain marches, scarred and crowned,
His hands still bear the nail’s cruel print;
Through storm and shadow, blood-bespattered ground,
He leads where cowards fear to sprint.
No chain of fear shall bind the brave,
No whisper of the serpent’s art;
Though worlds may mock and powers rave,
His voice alone commands the heart.

Be valiant, then, for truth this day,
When falsehood cloaks itself in light;
When error wears a saintly sway
And wolves in sheepskin prowl the night.
Stand firm where compromise would creep,
Where silence seems the easier road;
The cross demands, the watchmen keep—
Their charge is heavy, yet their load.

Though wounds may scar and trials press,
Though brethren fall and banners tear,
The King who died will yet confess
The faithful ones who tarry there.
A crown of life awaits the true,
Where every tear is wiped away;
He turns our broken dreams anew—
In victory Christ holds the day.

Then charge, ye soldiers of the King,
With voices joined in battle cry;
Let every tongue His praises sing,
Till darkened realms to daylight fly.
No fortress built by mortal hand
Shall stand against His sovereign might;
We march beneath His high command—
Till every knee bows at His sight!

Love Your Neighbour II by Debbie Harris

O love your neighbour, though their wealth abound
And mock the humble bounds where you are found;
Let envy not consume your quiet breast,
Nor covet what in providence is blessed.
Rest content within your modest place,
And grudge them not their luxury or grace—
For greed that eyes another’s store with spite
Doth dim the light where charity burns bright.

Or if abundance crowns your days with store,
While near you languish those in want once more—
Regard them not as lesser souls below;
One blood the Lord hath given all to know.
The garment gleams with finer weave than theirs,
Yet every heart beneath His mercy shares.
Embrace them kindred, though in tatters dressed;
Love them as Christ hath loved the lowliest.

Yea, though your mercy meet ingratitude,
And scorn repay the good you have pursued—
Endure, press on, nor falter in the strife;
Love’s truest test is in the hardest life.
Heap coals of fire on hearts that turn away;
Seek not their favor, but your Master’s day.
If humankind reject your offered hand,
Heaven’s welcome waits—your labour shall not stand
Unseen or unaccepted in His sight.

Thus follow where the Saviour trod before,
Who loved the thankless, suffered, and yet more:
Through every trial, through scorn or calm serene,
Love your neighbour—let love forever reign.
In selfless giving, pure and undefiled,
You walk beside the meek and holy Child,
And find, within the offering of your soul,
The boundless wealth that makes the spirit whole.
