Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard,
The everlasting God, the Lord,
Creator of earth’s farthest ends,
Fainteth not, neither grows weary?
His understanding—no man can search.

He giveth power to the faint;
To them that have no might He increaseth strength.
Even youths shall faint and be weary,
Young men stumble, fall—
But they that wait upon the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
Mount up with wings as eagles,
Run and not be weary,
Walk and never faint.

O boundless God, I stand in awe—
Thy oceans of might overflow my soul!
My heart, a trembling leaf, is lifted high
On eagle-wings of grace Thou dost bestow.
I thank Thee, Lord, with every breath I draw;
Thy greatness crashes like a tidal wave,
And in its roar I lose myself,
Found only in Thy love that saves.

Reclaiming Halloween For Our Lord And Savior Jesus Christ by Debbie Harris

The poem reclaims Halloween from pagan and fearful origins, dedicating the night to Jesus Christ. It transforms traditional elements—jack-o’-lanterns, costumes, candy, and bonfires—into symbols of Christian faith, evangelism, and victory over darkness. Through light, prayer, scripture, and joyful witness, the Church declares Christ’s lordship, turning a once-shadowed eve into a celebration of resurrection and redemption.

The night once cloaked in shadows deep,
Where specters roamed and witches creeped,
We lift our lamps—His truth, His light—
And chase the dark with holy might.

No longer bound to fear’s old chain,
Nor pagan rites that mock the slain;
We claim this eve for Christ alone,
The King who sits upon the throne.

Pumpkins glow with carved-out praise,
Not grimacing skulls, but joyful rays—
A cross, a fish, a crown of thorn,
Proclaiming He who rose that morn.

Costumes trade the ghoul for grace:
A shepherd’s staff, a saintly face,
Disciples bold in robes of white,
Reflecting Heaven’s glorious light.

Candy shared with words of life,
“Jesus loves you—end the strife.”
Trick-or-treat becomes a call
To feast upon the Lord of all.

Bonfires burn, not spells to cast,
But prayers ascending, sins outcast.
We sing of resurrection’s power,
Defeating death this hallowed hour.

For every ghost that haunts the soul,
Christ’s blood has made the broken whole.
No demon dares to cross His name—
Halloween bows to the Lamb once slain.

So rise, O Church, reclaim the night!
With hymns and hope, with truth and might.
This eve belongs to Jesus now—
All Hallows’ Eve, we take our vow.

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
—John 1:5

Mercies Woven Fresh at First Light: A Sensory Psalm of Faith’s Vision by Debbie Harris

Rooted in Lamentations 3:22-23 (KJV), this poem portrays God’s mercies as a daily dawn-renewal experienced through all five senses. In third-person universality, it invites anyone to hear the wind’s whisper, see the golden horizon, smell rain-soaked earth, taste grace-sweetened tea, and feel the sun’s warming touch—each sense revealing invisible compassion made tangible. Faith transforms ordinary morning moments into a “sensory psalm,” a resurrection of hope woven fresh at first light.

It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Lamentations 3:22-23 (KJV)

In the hush before the world stirs,
one hears it first—a whisper of wind threading through leaves,
silk robes brushing ancient stone,
creation’s heart restarting with a soft thrum,
a rooster’s cry cracking night like warm bread.

Then sight unfurls: the horizon bleeds gold,
mercies rising like loaves from heaven’s oven,
pink and amber ribbons over dew-kissed fields,
shadows fleeing as light claims the throne—
by faith, the invisible becomes visible,
promises painted in sunrise scripture.

Smell awakens next, earth’s incense ascending:
crisp petrichor from last night’s rain,
wild honeysuckle’s sweet breath,
coffee grounds blooming in a kitchen’s warm exhale—
compassion, aromatic and alive,
drifting through open windows like manna’s memory.

Taste follows, a sacrament on the tongue:
the first sip of tea, honeyed and hot,
bitter edge softened by grace’s slow melt,
salt of yesterday’s tears evaporated,
leaving only forgiveness,
new as Eden’s untouched fruit.

Finally, touch—the gentle siege of mercy:
cool grass kissing bare feet,
sun’s first rays warming skin like a father’s hand,
a breeze caressing cheeks, erasing wrinkles of worry—
by faith, unseen arms enfolding,
tender as lamb’s wool, strong as dawn’s resolve.

Can anyone sense it? By faith, see it—
God’s mercies, woven fresh in every sense,
a daily resurrection,
eternal in the fleeting now.

Revelation 21:22-23 (KJV)

In Heaven’s courts, no temple’s walls are raised,
For God, with Christ and Spirit, dwells as one.
Their glory crowns the city, brightly blazed,
A radiant light no shadow dares to shun.
No sun ascends, no moon with silver gleam,
For divine light outshines all earthly flame.
The Lamb’s pure glow through golden streets does stream,
Illuming all with everlasting claim.
No darkness falls where holy splendor reigns,
Each gate of pearl reflects Their sovereign might.
The born-again, redeemed from earthly chains,
Bask in the warmth of uncreated light.
O Majesty, eternal, rich, and grand,
Thy Triune radiance wakes the eternal psalm!

My heart burns to proclaim the love, grace, and eternal faithfulness of Christ Jesus. As a performer with a master’s in performance, I crafted this poem to roar like an aria, cascading like a waterfall of faith that can’t be contained. The publishing world may turn away from such unbridled passion, preferring polished whispers to bold shouts, but I won’t dim this fire. This poem is my soul’s cry—a call to all peoples to run to Jesus, who freely gives salvation and will never betray you. Let these King James scriptures set the stage for a truth that demands to be heard.

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost Romans 15:13, KJV

The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. Jeremiah 31:3, KJV

In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. Ephesians 1:7, KJV

And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.1 John 5:11, KJV

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13, KJV

I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Hebrews 13:5, KJV

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Ephesians 2:8, KJV

There is hope,
Love, mercy,
Grace, forgiveness,
Eternal life,
Friendship, truth—
Everything one needs
In Christ Jesus our Lord!
Run to Him, all peoples,
Run to Him with haste!
For Jesus loves,
Restores,
Transforms—
One who can never,
Will never,
No, ever betray you!

Holy Proximity to Emmanuel’s Glory: A Poetic Reflection on the Redeemed Saint’s Journey Drawing Nigh to the Heart of God by Debbie Harris

The poem, inspired by James 4:8a (KJV) – “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you,” is a reverent and awe-filled celebration of the intimate relationship between a redeemed saint and Emmanuel, God with us. It portrays the majestic God of the universe stooping to meet the humble, seeking heart of a believer. The poem emphasizes the divine promise that as one draws near to God, He reciprocates with His presence, enveloping the saint in grace and love. Through vivid imagery of heaven’s light, seraphs’ songs, and the vastness of creation, it underscores the wonder of God’s nearness to a royally redeemed soul, affirming the transformative power of faith and the sacred proximity to the divine.

Based on James 4:8a (KJV) – “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.”

In the hush of heaven’s holy light,
Emmanuel, the God of endless might,
Stoops from realms where seraphs sing,
To meet the heart that seeks its King.

Oh, royally redeemed, a saint made whole,
By grace divine, He claims my soul.
The God of stars, of seas, of skies,
Draws near to hear my humble cries.

“Draw nigh to God,” the Spirit calls,
Through sacred pages, mercy falls.
A step toward Him, with trembling awe,
And He descends, no veil, no flaw.

The universe’s Sovereign, vast and grand,
Holds this frail heart within His hand.
Emmanuel, God with us, so near,
His presence calms all doubt, all fear.

Oh, wondrous truth, my soul takes flight,
The King of glory bends to my plight.
I draw to Him, my Savior true,
And find His heart draws nearer too.

As saints redeemed, with royal claim,
We walk in grace, we praise His name.
For James declares, in love’s decree,
Draw near to God—He runs to thee.

The Word of God shall ne’er grow old.
Its power endures, its promise sure,
Our anchor strong, our hope secure.

Victorious hope, our banner high,
Majestic King, enthroned on high!
With royal courage, we proclaim,
Our faith unshaken in His name!

With hearts ablaze, we’ll face the fight,
Defend the truth with holy might.

Victorious hope, our banner high,
Majestic King, enthroned on high!
With royal courage, we proclaim,
Our faith unshaken in His name!

Verse 4
The Spirit’s fire within us burns,
To Christ, our loyal heart returns.
His grace sustains through every strife,
Our shield, our strength, our source of life.

Refrain
Victorious hope, our banner high,
Majestic King, enthroned on high!
With royal courage, we proclaim,
Our faith unshaken in His name!

Verse 5
United, we shall overcome,
Till every battle’s fought and won.
The cross before us, we’ll endure,
Our calling steadfast, bold, and pure.

Refrain
Victorious hope, our banner high,
Majestic King, enthroned on high!
With royal courage, we proclaim,
Our faith unshaken in His name!

Verse 6
O Lord, our King, forever reign,
Your truth shall never know a chain!
Through endless ages, we’ll adore,
And sing Your praise forevermore!

Victorious hope, our banner high,
Majestic King, enthroned on high!
With royal courage, we proclaim,
Our faith unshaken in His name!

Summary of “Defenders of the Holy Faith, Clad in Celestial Resolve: A Grand Ode Based on Jude 3”

The poem, inspired by Jude 3, is a call to steadfastly defend the Christian faith as urged in the biblical text. It portrays believers as zealous guardians tasked with protecting the sacred truth of the gospel, which was entrusted to the saints. Despite challenges from falsehoods and skeptics, the poem emphasizes unwavering commitment to upholding the eternal light of Christ’s truth. It concludes with a rallying cry to proclaim and defend the faith with love and strength until Christ’s return, evoking themes of spiritual resilience, devotion, and divine hope.

Inspired by Jude 3

Beloved, rise with fervent zeal,
To guard the faith, the truth we feel.
Jude calls us, steadfast, to contend,
For sacred trust that knows no end.

Once delivered to the saints of old,
A treasure pure, more precious than gold.
With hearts ablaze, we stand our ground,
In Christ’s own truth, forever found.

Though shadows creep with subtle lies,
And doubters scorn beneath the skies,
We’ll hold the Word, unyielding, sure,
Its light eternal shall endure.

Contend, O soul, with love and might,
Proclaim the gospel’s holy light.
For faith entrusted, we’ll defend,
Till Christ returns, our hope, our end.

Ode to Vanished Grace: The Fading of Beauty in Stone, Word, Cloth, and the Eternal Light of Christ by Debbie Harris

The poem, titled “Ode to Vanished Grace: The Fading of Beauty in Stone, Word, Cloth, and the Eternal Light of Christ”, is a lament for the decline of beauty in architecture, poetry, fashion, and language, while affirming Jesus Christ as the eternal source of true beauty. It consists of four stanzas, each addressing a different domain:

  1. Architecture: The poem mourns the loss of sacred, awe-inspiring structures like cathedrals, replaced by cold, utilitarian glass and steel, which lack the spiritual depth of earlier designs.
  2. Poetry and Language: It reflects on the decline of eloquent, soulful verse and language, now overtaken by fleeting, shallow expressions that fail to capture the timeless beauty of the past.
  3. Fashion: The poem critiques modern fashion’s lack of grace and craftsmanship, contrasting it with past styles that reflected care and higher ideals, now lost to transient trends.
  4. Christ as Beauty’s Source: The final stanza reaffirms that true beauty originates in Jesus Christ, whose enduring love and glory remain a constant amidst fading earthly forms. It calls readers to seek Him to rediscover beauty.

The poem blends elegy with hope, using vivid imagery and a reverent tone to contrast temporal loss with the eternal beauty found in Christ.

Where has all the beauty gone,
In arches, spires, and stone?
Once cathedrals touched the dawn,
Their grace a hymn, a throne.
Marble sang of sacred art,
Each curve a prayer, each line a heart.
Now glass and steel in cold array,
Stand stark where glory slipped away.

Where has all the beauty gone,
In poetry’s tender rhyme?
Words once wove a timeless song,
Of love, of truth divine.
Now fleeting slang and hurried prose,
Replace the verse that gently flows.
The tongue that shaped a soul’s delight,
Fades in the glare of shallow light.

Where has all the beauty gone,
In fashion’s fleeting frame?
Once robes adorned with craft and care,
Proclaimed a higher name.
Now trends in haste, with little grace,
Adorn the form but veil the face.
The elegance that once inspired,
Is lost in fleeting, vain desire.

Yet beauty’s source remains the same,
In Christ, the fount, the living flame.
From Him the architect’s hand drew,
The poet’s heart, the weaver’s hue.
His love, the spark that beauty wakes,
In every soul His glory makes.
Though forms may fade, His truth endures,
The wellspring of all beauty pure.

So seek Him where the shadows fall,
In crumbled stone, in whispered call.
For beauty lives where Christ is known,
In hearts that make His grace their own.
