The Faithful Covering: From Pitch-Sealed Arks to the Blood-Sealed Soul by Debbie Harris

We are not left to hold ourselves together by willpower, discipline, or personal stability. Through Christ’s finished work on the cross, God actively sustains us—inside and out—amid life’s storms, overwhelming seasons, emotional waves, or faith-stretching trials. We are not barely afloat; we are covered, cherished, and held in His unfailing grace.

In ancient days when judgment fell like rain,
A righteous man received the Lord’s command:
“Build thee an ark of gopher, strong and plain,
And pitch it round with bitumen’s dark hand.”
Inside and out the thick black seal was laid,
No drop could breach what God Himself designed;
Through forty nights the deluge roared and swayed,
Yet safety held where grace and pitch combined.

Then came a mother, heart in anguish torn,
Who wove a fragile boat of reed and slime,
And daubed it well with pitch from dusk till morn,
To guard her child from Pharaoh’s cruel crime.
Upon the Nile the little ark was set,
A basket borne through waters wild and deep;
The covering kept the infant safe from threat,
Till Pharaoh’s daughter drew him from his sleep.

Two vessels small, yet echoing one theme:
Not wood’s own strength, nor builder’s skill prevailed,
But God’s provided coat, a faithful dream,
That turned destruction back and life entailed.
The ark through flood, the basket through the stream—
Both sealed by pitch, both shadowed forth the Son,
Whose blood, once shed, redeems us from the dream
Of self-held strength; in Him our all is won.

No longer do we clutch at trembling frame,
Nor fear the rising tide will sweep us under;
In Christ all things cohere, He bears our name,
His finished work our souls in mercy sunder
From wrath’s dark flood. Though waves may crash and roar,
And seasons press with weight we scarce can bear,
The covering holds—eternal, evermore—
For He who pitched the ark is present there.

So breathe, dear soul, when storms assail your peace;
You are not left to drift or fall apart.
The same sure hand that brought deliverance
Now holds you fast within His steadfast heart.
In Christ you stand, not barely kept afloat,
But covered, cherished, whole—forever His.
The pitch of old, the cross of love, the note
Of grace resounding: You are held in bliss.

Closing Prayer

Faithful God,
You who sealed the ark against the flood
and coated the basket on the Nile with Your protecting hand,
thank You for the greater covering we now have in Christ.

His blood, poured out once for all, has sealed us inside and out—
not by our strength, but by Your unfailing grace.
When the waters rise and our hearts tremble,
hold us together in Him.
Let us rest, not in our own frail vessels,
but in the finished work of Your Son.

Breathe Your peace over us today.
Remind us: we are not barely afloat;
we are covered, cherished, and held forever in Your steadfast love.

In the name of Jesus, our true Ark and Covering,
Amen.

There Is Therefore Now No Condemnation(Romans 8:1 – A Hymn of Victory Over the Accuser) by Debbie Harris

Romans 8.1

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

No condemnation now I own,
For I am hid in Christ alone;
The accuser’s voice, though fierce and loud,
Is drowned beneath the crimson flood.

Refrain
No condemnation, precious word!
Consider it, my soul!
Thy sins on Jesus all were laid;
His blood has made thee whole.

Day and night he charged my soul,
With sins of old that took their toll;
But Revelation’s thunder rings—
The dragon falls; the Lamb now reigns.

Refrain
No condemnation, precious word!
Consider it, my soul!
Thy sins on Jesus all were laid;
His blood has made thee whole.

Who shall accuse God’s chosen ones?
God justifies through His dear Son;
Christ died, He rose, He pleads above—
No charge can stand against His love.

Refrain
No condemnation, precious word!
Consider it, my soul!
Thy sins on Jesus all were laid;
His blood has made thee whole.

Come boldly to the throne of grace,
Not trembling in a guilty place,
But confident in mercy’s call,
Where help abounds for one and all.

Refrain
No condemnation, precious word!
Consider it, my soul!
Thy sins on Jesus all were laid;
His blood has made thee whole.

When shadows of the past arise,
And Satan whispers hopeless lies,
I point to Calvary’s tree so high—
“Behold the blood that speaks, ‘Not guilty!'”

Refrain
No condemnation, precious word!
Consider it, my soul!
Thy sins on Jesus all were laid;
His blood has made thee whole.

No chains of flesh can bind me now,
I walk by Spirit, free somehow;
His power melts the foe like dew,
And peace—sweet Shalom—breaks through.

Refrain
No condemnation, precious word!
Consider it, my soul!
Thy sins on Jesus all were laid;
His blood has made thee whole.

O run, my soul, to grace’s door,
Where wrath is turned to welcome more;
The throne that once seemed far and dread
Now bids me come, by Jesus led.

Refrain
No condemnation, precious word!
Consider it, my soul!
Thy sins on Jesus all were laid;
His blood has made thee whole.

So let the accuser rage in vain;
His weapons fall, his power wanes.
In Christ alone my victory stands—
No condemnation—through His hands.

Refrain
No condemnation, precious word!
Consider it, my soul!
Thy sins on Jesus all were laid;
His blood has made thee whole.

There Is Therefore Now No Condemnation: A Declaration of Victory Over the Voice That Accuses Day and Night by Debbie Harris

The poem confronts the inner voice of accusation—the relentless “prosecutor” (Satan) who rehearses past sins, declares the soul guilty, and urges it to shrink from God in shame. Drawing directly from Scripture, it proclaims the accuser’s defeat: he has been cast down (Revelation 12), and his charges are powerless against God’s elect.

The core truth is victory through Christ’s finished work:

  • God Himself justifies; Christ died, rose, and intercedes (Romans 8:33–34).
  • There is now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus who walk by the Spirit (Romans 8:1).
  • Believers are invited to approach the throne of grace boldly, not in terror, but with confidence in mercy and help (Hebrews 4:16).

The enemy’s reminders of failure are answered by pointing to the cross, where the blood of Jesus speaks a better word—mercy, redemption, and “paid in full.” Accusation loses its grip as faith strengthens, obedience flows from love already received, and the soul rests hidden in Christ.

In the end, the poem calls the reader to run to God rather than flee, declaring shalom—unbroken peace—because the accuser is subdued forever by the triumph of the Lamb. It is a hymn of liberation, assurance, and bold access to grace.

Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit

A voice arises in the night so deep,
Relentless prosecutor of my shame,
Rehearsing sins that make the weary weep,
And whispers, “Guilty—God withdraws His name.”

Yet Revelation speaks the accuser’s fall,
Cast down from heaven’s courts where he once stood,
His charges hurled against the brethren all,
But powerless now beneath the cleansing flood.

Who dares to lay a charge on God’s elect?
The Judge Himself has justified the soul;
Christ died, He rose—His blood pays every debt,
And shuts the mouth of condemnation’s toll.

Come boldly then unto the throne of grace,
Not cringing low in terror of the past,
But confident, for mercy finds its place
In wounds that heal and love that holds steadfast.

No condemnation shadows those in Christ,
Who walk by Spirit, not the flesh’s chain;
The cross declares the verdict: “Paid in full”—the price—
And Satan’s arrows fall in futile rain.

When he reminds of failures long ago,
Point swift to Calvary, where mercy flows;
His lies grow faint, his power melts like snow,
Beneath the blood that better witness shows.

So run, O soul, to grace’s open door,
Not fleeing wrath, but claiming what is thine;
The throne rejects thee nevermore—
For Jesus’ blood forever speaks: “Thou’rt mine.”

Shalom—peace unbroken, hope renewed,
In Christ alone, the accuser is subdued.

Jesus Christ, Our Glorious Royal Righteousness by Debbie Harris

They stand not on the works they’ve spun,
No merit from their hands they bring;
Their prayers and tears avail them none,
Before the throne of heaven’s King.

No righteousness of theirs can stand,
Their efforts crumble into dust;
Yet Jesus Christ, with pierced hand,
Becomes their hope, their only trust.

He lived the law in perfect grace,
Obeyed where we had failed before;
He bore our curse in sin’s dark place,
And rose to open mercy’s door.

In Christ alone they stand secure,
Accepted, robed in spotless light;
His life their plea, His blood their cure,
His merit shines forever bright.

When guilt accuses through the night,
And doubt would bind them to despair,
They turn to Calvary’s finished sight:
Jesus Christ—their righteousness there.

No “Christ and them” in mingled claim,
The Savior is their all in all;
In Him the Father’s love aflame,
Receives the sinner from their fall.

They rest where heaven’s truth is plain:
Not “worthy they,” but worthy He;
Forever free from guilt and chain,
In Jesus Christ their victory.

All praise to Him who took their place,
Who clothes them in His endless worth;
The ransomed sing with one accord:
Jesus Christ is our righteousness—
Their glory, theirs forevermore.

Thoughts Worth Dwelling On: The Blessed Hope of the Rapture and the Glorious Government of Our Lord Jesus Christ by Debbie Harris

6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Phillipians 4:6-9 KJV

O set your heart on things above,
Where Christ shall soon descend in love;
The trumpet sound, the archangel’s cry—
True promise lifts our gaze on high.

What is more true than His sure word?
The dead in Christ shall rise first, assured;
Caught up together in clouds we soar,
To meet the Lord forevermore.

What is more honorable, more just,
Than the King returning in power and trust?
No longer meek upon a lowly ass,
But crowned in glory, the First and Last.

What is more pure than spotless grace,
That calls His bride to yonder place?
Washed white as snow, without a stain,
In robes of righteousness we reign.

How lovely is that day of light,
When shadows flee before His sight!
The earth restored, the curse undone,
Peace flowing like a river’s run.

What good report shall echo wide?
The government on His shoulder abides—
Justice and mercy in perfect blend,
A thousand years of joy without end.

No tyrant sways, no wicked thrives,
For righteousness forever lives;
The wolf with lamb in harmony lies,
The knowledge of the Lord fills earth and skies.

If there be any virtue, any praise,
Then fix your thoughts these coming days:
The rapture’s hope, the throne of gold,
Where Christ is King, and love untold.

Let not the storms of earth prevail,
Nor fleeting fears your peace assail;
But dwell upon this glorious theme—
Our soon-coming Savior, our reigning King supreme.

Maranatha! Come, Lord Jesus, come!
In this sweet meditation, find your home.

When boundless love descends like morning dew
Upon the parched and thirsty soul below,
The wanderer lifts his eyes, his spirit new,
And bids the ancient gates of praise to glow.

As rivers clap their hands and mountains sing,
So hearts in wonder rise to bless His name;
They enter courts with thanksgiving’s offering,
And fill His house with songs of righteousness.

No cold command compels, but grace ignites—
They love because He first loved them in might;
With all the heart, the soul, the mind’s pure lights,
They walk in paths of sweet obedience’s delight.

In shadow of His wings they refuge find,
And pour out fragrance like the rose entwined.

Stanza 1
In Bethlehem’s soft night, beneath the star’s bright gleam,
A virgin bears the Son in lowly manger scene;
The angels wake the shepherds from their midnight dream,
And heaven’s courts resound with seraphic theme.
The Word made flesh, eternal Light in human guise,
Descends to claim the lost beneath repentant skies.
O Gift beyond all gifts that mortal heart could prize—
Jesus Christ, our Lord, forever reigns on high!

Refrain
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Let earth and heaven raise the strain!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
The King is born of David’s royal line!
Jesus Christ, the Gift above all earthly gifts,
Everlasting Joy, the Savior of us all—
Hallelujah! Glory everlasting be
To Christ the Lord, who sets His people free!

Stanza 2
The shepherds haste to see the Babe in swaddling bound,
Where humble beasts keep watch in silence all around;
“Glory to God!” the angelic host has now proclaimed,
And peace on earth to men of good will named.
No palace gates, no throne of gold receive their King,
Yet choirs invisible His praises loudly sing.
The Lamb who takes our sin has come, redeeming,
Jesus Christ, our Lord, forever reigns on high!

Refrain
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Let earth and heaven raise the strain!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
The King is born of David’s royal line!
Jesus Christ, the Gift above all earthly gifts,
Everlasting Joy, the Savior of us all—
Hallelujah! Glory everlasting be
To Christ the Lord, who sets His people free!

Stanza 3
From Eastern lands the Magi journey long and far,
Drawn by the radiant light of yonder guiding star;
They bring their royal treasures to the Child divine,
And kneel before the King in humble, reverent line.
Gold for His crown, sweet incense for His deity,
Myrrh for the bitter cup He soon must drink for thee—
All earthly kings must bow before eternity:
Jesus Christ, our Lord, forever reigns on high!

Refrain
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Let earth and heaven raise the strain!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
The King is born of David’s royal line!
Jesus Christ, the Gift above all earthly gifts,
Everlasting Joy, the Savior of us all—
Hallelujah! Glory everlasting be
To Christ the Lord, who sets His people free!

Stanza 4
Emmanuel—behold, our God with us abides,
The Infinite in mortal flesh now veiled resides;
He bears our grief, He carries all our sorrow’s weight,
To heal the broken heart and open heaven’s gate.
O boundless mercy shown in this most wondrous birth,
O love unfathomable come to ransom earth!
The Hope of every age has dawned upon our mirth:
Jesus Christ, our Lord, forever reigns on high!

Refrain
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Let earth and heaven raise the strain!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
The King is born of David’s royal line!
Jesus Christ, the Gift above all earthly gifts,
Everlasting Joy, the Savior of us all—
Hallelujah! Glory everlasting be
To Christ the Lord, who sets His people free!

Stanza 5
From cradle unto cross His sacred path He trod,
To offer up Himself, the spotless Lamb of God;
Yet Christmas light foretells the triumph of the morn
When death itself lies vanquished and its sting is torn.
The Babe who sleeps in Mary’s arms shall rise again,
And reign victorious over Satan, death, and sin.
All hail the conquering King who breaks the captive’s chain:
Jesus Christ, our Lord, forever reigns on high!

Refrain
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Let earth and heaven raise the strain!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
The King is born of David’s royal line!
Jesus Christ, the Gift above all earthly gifts,
Everlasting Joy, the Savior of us all—
Hallelujah! Glory everlasting be
To Christ the Lord, who sets His people free!

Stanza 6
All fleeting gifts of earth grow dim and fade away
Beside the priceless Pearl that shines in endless day;
No joy the world can give compares with knowing Him,
No treasure equals Christ, the bright Seraphic Gem.
He is the living Fount from whom all blessings flow,
The Alpha and Omega, whom angels long to know—
Eternal Gift of God to mortals here below:
Jesus Christ, our Lord, forever reigns on high!

Refrain
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Let earth and heaven raise the strain!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
The King is born of David’s royal line!
Jesus Christ, the Gift above all earthly gifts,
Everlasting Joy, the Savior of us all—
Hallelujah! Glory everlasting be
To Christ the Lord, who sets His people free!

Stanza 7
Arise, O Church, and sing through every age and clime,
Proclaim the Savior’s name beyond the bounds of time;
From Christmas dawn until the final trumpet sounds,
Let ceaseless praise ascend where grace and truth abound.
Worthy the Lamb once slain, now crowned in majesty,
To reign forevermore in glorious victory—
All heaven and earth adore Him through eternity:
Jesus Christ, our Lord, forever reigns on high!

Refrain
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Let earth and heaven raise the strain!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
The King is born of David’s royal line!
Jesus Christ, the Gift above all earthly gifts,
Everlasting Joy, the Savior of us all—
Hallelujah! Glory everlasting be
To Christ the Lord, who sets His people free!

Glory to the Lamb: The Eternal Wonder of Born-Again Souls Made New

The poem celebrates the profound miracle of salvation through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.

It begins with a repentant soul turning from darkness, confessing Jesus as Lord and King, and receiving the life-giving breath of the Holy Spirit.

Whoever comes to Him—regardless of past or status—is buried with Christ in baptism, the old self crucified, and raised as a brand-new creation, awakened from spiritual death.

In awe, the poem marvels at God’s grace: bending low to redeem the lost, heal the broken, and fashion children from ashes and dust—now eternally secure in His love.

The closing stanza erupts in worship to the Lamb who bore our sin, transforming mourning into unending praise. A new heart now beats for Him, and the triumphant declaration rings out:

Hallelujah! Born-again souls, new creatures forever!

Ultimately, the poem is a joyful hymn of praise for the eternal wonder of regeneration—the glorious truth that anyone who receives Christ becomes a completely new creation, alive forever in Him.

In the shadowed heart, a weary soul bends low,
Repentance breaks the chains of night’s long reign;
Tears fall like rain on soil prepared to grow,
And mercy’s voice dissolves the ancient stain.

Then comes the whisper—“Jesus, Lord and King”—
A cry of faith that pierces heaven’s door;
The Spirit rushes in on dove-soft wing,
And what was dead now breathes forevermore.

Whoever comes—lost sinner, great or small—
Is buried with Him in the waters deep;
The old is gone, behold, He makes all
Things new, a child awakened from death’s sleep.

What miracle is this! That God would bend
To make a child from ashes and from dust—
The lost now found, the broken whole again,
Forever His, forever held in trust.

Glory to the Lamb who bore our shame,
Who turns our mourning into endless praise;
A new heart beats, and bears His holy name—
Hallelujah! Born-again souls, new creatures forever!

Before the dawn ignites the eastern sky,
The Lord Himself descends in holy fire;
He shatters chains where darkness dares to lie,
And clothes you now in heaven’s royal fire.

Through earthly strife where mortal battles rage,
His chariot cloud consumes all earthly fear;
In every trial, written on heaven’s page,
His holy might shall conquer what is near.

When shadows fall and earthly voices cease,
His glory throne illuminates the night;
The King of kings bestows unbroken peace,
And heaven’s power flows as endless light.

So stand as one with heaven’s victory won,
The Lord your God—His power makes you strong!

May We Never Underestimate the Righteous and Holy Power of Our Risen Savior by Debbie Harris

Summary of “May We Never Underestimate the Righteous and Holy Power of Our Risen Savior”The poem is a fervent, worshipful warning and celebration: Christians must never reduce, tame, or forget the full, awe-inspiring reality of who the risen Jesus truly is.It begins with a solemn charge—never to underestimate the holy power that conquered death itself. Christ is portrayed not merely as a gentle teacher or moral example, but as the sovereign King who silenced storms, shattered hell’s gates, and rose victorious from the tomb, bearing scars that are now emblems of eternal dominion.Stanza by stanza, the poem contrasts the limitless might and terror of His glory with the frailty of human pride, empires, and darkness. No night is too deep, no heart too hard, no kingdom too strong to withstand the light and love of the Risen One. Every knee will ultimately bow—not by persuasion, but by the undeniable authority of the Lamb who was slain and yet lives forever on the throne.The closing stanzas shift from warning to exultation, calling the soul to awaken and join the angelic anthem: “Worthy is the Lamb!” The resurrection is not a past event to be sentimentalized; it is the present, reigning, returning reality of the all-conquering Christ.In essence, the poem is a passionate plea to behold Jesus in His full biblical majesty—terrifying in holiness, tender in mercy, and absolutely unrivaled in power—so that we worship, fear, love, and live in the light of the One who lives and reigns forever.

May we never underestimate
The holy power that death could not hold,
The King who rose when the morning was late
And turned the grave to a gate of gold.

He spoke, and tempests forgot their rage,
He stood, and iron-barred darkness broke;
The chains of hell fell off like a page
Torn from the book that Satan wrote.

No night so deep but His dawn can rend,
No heart so hard but His love can move;
The proudest knee in the end shall bend
Beneath the scar that is crowned with love.

Let empires boast of their marble and might,
Let tyrants thunder and legions roar—
They crumble to dust in a breath of His light,
For Christ is risen, and reigns evermore.

May we never belittle or tame
The terror and tenderness blended as one
In Him who still bears the print of the nail
Yet sits on the throne when all thrones are gone.

Awake, my soul, and with angels cry:
“Worthy the Lamb upon Calvary slain!”
All heaven thunders the glad reply—
He lives, He reigns, and He comes again!Amen.
