A Solemn Call to Repentance: Lest America Perish Beneath the Shadow of Demonic Ideologies and the Approaching Judgment of God by Debbie Harris

Dear Reader,

I write these lines not as a poet seeking applause, but as a watchman compelled by conscience and burdened by love for my country. In an hour when America stands at a grave crossroads—when ancient truths are mocked, when demonic ideologies disguised as progress and compassion have infiltrated our institutions, our schools, our hearts, and even our sanctuaries—I could not remain silent. This poem is a solemn call to repentance. It is a cry from the soul of one who still believes that God has not forsaken this land, but that we as a people have forsaken Him. We have traded the fear of the Lord for the applause of men. We have exchanged liberty for license, justice for vengeance, and the light of truth for the darkness of deception. The blood of the innocent cries out. The family lies in ruins. Confusion reigns where clarity once stood. And judgment, though long restrained by mercy, draws steadily nearer. My prayer is simple: that every reader—whether believer or skeptic—would pause, search their own heart, and consider the hour in which we live. This is not a political manifesto. It is a spiritual alarm. Repentance is not shame; it is the doorway to restoration. It is the path back to the God who raised this nation from a wilderness and made her a beacon to the world. If these words sting, let them sting unto life. If they convict, let them drive you to your knees. If they awaken hope, let that hope be anchored in the only One who can heal our land. America can still be saved—but only through humble, sincere, national turning back to God. The choice remains ours for a little while longer.

With urgent love and trembling hope,
The Poet

2 Chronicles 7:14
“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

Jeremiah 18:7-8
“The instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, to pull down, and to destroy it, if that nation against whom I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I thought to bring upon it.”Proverbs 14:34
“Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.”

Isaiah 5:20
“Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light and light for darkness…”

Ephesians 6:12
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

1 Timothy 4:1
“Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons.”

Joel 2:12-13
“‘Now, therefore,’ says the Lord, ‘Turn to Me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.’ So rend your heart, and not your garments; return to the Lord your God…”

Ezekiel 18:30-32
“Repent, and turn from all your transgressions, so that iniquity will not be your ruin… For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,” says the Lord God. “Therefore turn and live!”

Isaiah 59:14
“Justice is turned back, and righteousness stands afar off; for truth has fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.”2 Peter 3:9
“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise… but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.”These Scriptures form the spiritual backbone of the poem. They proclaim both solemn warning and tender hope: judgment follows persistent sin, but mercy awaits a humble and repentant people.

O America, thou favored land of light,
Once pilgrim’s hope upon a stormy shore,
Whose covenant with Heaven burned so bright—
Now dimmed by shadows at thy temple door.

The ancient Dragon stirs with cunning guile,
In silken lies and ideologies of night;
He cloaks his chains in freedom’s stolen smile,
And calls the darkness wisdom, pure and right.

Repent! The Judge upon His throne draws near,
His eyes like flame behold thy crimson stain—
The blood of innocents, the silent tear,
The altars cold, the broken marriage chain.

Where once thy steeples rang with sacred song,
Now temples rise to self and fleeting lust;
Where liberty and law walked hand in strong,
Now chaos reigns and iron fists of dust.

Awake, ye sons of Plymouth’s holy vow,
Ye children of the Revolution’s fire!
The whirlwind gathers; heaven’s trumpets bow
To sound the warning of consuming ire.

Demonic doctrines slither through thy schools,
Twisting the young with serpents’ poisoned tongue;
They crown the vile, they mock the golden rules,
And call good evil till the darkness sung.

Repent, O nation! Rend thy haughty heart,
In sackcloth bow before the mercy throne;
Cast down thy idols, tear thy lies apart,
And turn thee wholly to the Lord alone.

For judgment rides upon the tempest’s wing—
Plague, division, violence, and despair—
Yet mercy lingers still, a boundless spring,
If thou wilt seek with contrite, fervent prayer.

Restore the altar! Let the pulpits flame
With truth unyielding, sharp as a two-edged sword;
Let families kneel and call upon His Name,
The only Rock, the everlasting Lord.

Then shall thy light break forth as morning fair,
Thy wounds be healed, thy former glory rise;
A city set on a hill, beyond compare,
A beacon once again beneath the skies.

Hear now the watchman’s final, solemn cry:
“Repent, America, while time remains!
Lest thou, like Babylon, in ruin lie,
And judgment seals thy once triumphant name.”

O turn thee now—thy God is slow to wrath,
His arms still open, waiting to forgive;
Repent, and live! Walk in the ancient path,
And by His grace forever truly live.

They That Are Wise Shall Shine as the Brightness of the Firmament: A Poetic Rendering of Daniel 12:3 by Debbie Harris

Dear Reader,

These verses were born in quiet meditation upon the luminous promise of Daniel 12:3. In a world grown dim with shadows, the Spirit still whispers that those who are wise — not with the wisdom of this age, but with the fear of the Lord — shall shine as the brightness of the firmament. And they that turn many to righteousness shall be as the stars forever and ever.I have sought, with trembling hand, to clothe this eternal truth in language worthy of its Source. The poem is no mere literary exercise; it is a prayer set to meter. It exalts the atoning work of the Lamb once slain, the transforming power of His grace that takes sinners and makes them luminaries in His kingdom, and the coming day when every redeemed soul will reflect the undimmed glory of the Bright and Morning Star. If these lines stir even a single heart to deeper devotion, to bolder witness, or to greater longing for Christ’s appearing, then they have fulfilled their purpose. May you, dear reader, be among those who shine with deathless radiance — robed not in your own merit, but in the righteousness of Him who hung upon the cursed tree and rose in triumph. May the Saviour-King Himself kindle fresh fire in your soul as you read, that you too may turn the erring sons and daughters of night to the Lamb, and so shine forever in His glorious presence.

To the Lamb upon the throne be all the praise, now and forevermore. Amen.

Daniel 12:3 (KJV)

And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

They that are wise shall shine as firmament’s own fire,
In splendour clad that dims the noonday sun;
Their light, the very glory of Messiah’s choir,
Shall blaze undimmed when time itself is done.

And they who turn the erring sons of night
To righteousness, to Christ the Lamb once slain,
Shall gleam as stars in everlasting light,
Where glory crowns the Victor’s endless reign.

No fleeting spark, no twilight’s pale decline,
Shall touch the radiance of their deathless brow;
For He who hung upon the cursed sign
Hath robed them now in light that angels bow.

O Saviour-King, Thou Bright and Morning Star,
Make us Thy wisdom, make us wholly Thine;
That we, who lead the lost where mercies are,
May shine forever in Thy light divine.

When all the ransomed throng in triumph raise
The song that fills the crystal sea with praise,
Then shall Thy servants, clothed in Thy own rays,
Shine on, bright as the glory of Thy face.

Forever, and forever, world without end—
To Thee, O Lamb of God, be praise and power,
Who makest sinners shine as heaven’s friend,
And stars of glory Thine, forevermore. Amen.

The Eternal Rock: How the Bible Forms the Foundation of Our Constitutional Republic by Debbie Harris

From the Poet

Dear Reader,

In an age of shifting sands and competing voices, this poem is offered as a quiet yet fervent reminder: the Bible is not merely a religious text, but the deep, unyielding Rock upon which the moral and legal foundations of our constitutional republic were laid. It draws from the great covenants of Scripture—creation, law, redemption—and the theological truths of human dignity, sin, grace, and divine order. May these verses stir reflection on the Source from which our liberties flow, and renew our commitment to guard what has been so carefully entrusted to us.

With reverence for truth and liberty,

The Poet

The Bible as the Eternal Rock & Foundation

• Matthew 7:24-25 — “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.”

• Isaiah 28:16 — “Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.”

• 1 Corinthians 3:11 — “For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”

• 2 Timothy 2:19 — “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his.”

Covenant Truth & God’s Higher Law

• Psalm 119:142 — “Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth.”

• James 1:25 — “But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.”

• Acts 5:29 — “Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.”

• Romans 7:12 — “Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.”

Imago Dei – Human Dignity & Equality

• Genesis 1:26-27 — “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness… So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”

• Genesis 9:6 — “Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.”

Justice, Mercy & Liberty

• Micah 6:8 — “He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?”

• Psalm 89:14 — “Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.”

• Galatians 5:1 — “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.”

Government & Authority Under God

• Romans 13:1 — “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.”

• Proverbs 29:2 — “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.”

The Bible stands—the eternal, sovereign Rock,

Rooted in God’s unchanging holy will.

Upon its covenant truth our Republic took stock,

Where law reflects the Author of all good and ill.

Not human reason alone, but divine decree,

Reveals the moral order, deep and wide:

Imago Dei in every soul we see,

The source of rights no government can override.

When storms of doubt or chaos shake the land,

This Book remains the anchor of the age—

Proclaiming justice tempered by mercy’s hand,

And human sin that turns each heart to cage.

It speaks of fallen nature, bent toward strife,

Yet offers grace that liberates and heals;

A framework for the state to guard each life,

Where liberty is gift, not human yield.

From Sinai’s thunder to the Sermon’s light,

Its dual covenant shapes the public square:

Creation’s dignity and conscience bright,

The rule of law that binds both rich and rare.

In Congress halls, in courts where verdicts ring,

Its unseen influence guards the fragile trust—

That governments of men must serve the King

Whose higher law redeems the unjust.

Without this Rock the pillars start to crack,

Republics fracture when their ethics stray.

But grounded in His Word, our union holds its track,

A beacon of ordered freedom’s shining ray.

So let us guard this cornerstone with care,

Return to it when vital choices call.

The Bible lifts our vision high and fair—

The Rock that makes our Republic strong and great.

Dear Reader,

In a world that pulls our gaze downward—toward glittering distractions, fading treasures, and passing shadows—I offer these lines as a quiet invitation to look higher. May this sonnet stir your heart to fix its deepest affections where they truly belong: upon Christ, who sits enthroned above, and upon the eternal realities that outshine every earthly glory. Let these words be a compass when the dust of daily life threatens to cloud your vision.

With prayer and poetic affection,

The Poet

Colossians 3:2

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

(King James Version)

Set not thy gaze upon the dust that gleams

In fleeting gold beneath the sinking sun,

Nor chase the moth-winged dreams that burst in seams

Of smoke and shadow when the chase is done.

Lift up thy heart where crystal rivers wind

Through fields of living light no eye hath seen,

Where crowns of amethyst and sapphire shine

On brows that death’s cold fingers never glean.

There, thrones of sapphire flame and seraphs’ wings

Beat hymns that shake the everlasting hills;

Here, earthly anchors rust and siren-sings

Fade like spent embers on forsaken sills.

O fix thy compass on the heights above—

Where Christ is seated, there alone is love.

Salt and Light in the Last Days: Watchmen Warning, Trumpeting Salvation’s Call by Debbie Harris

Note from the Poet

Dear Reader,

In these darkening days, when the signs of the times press heavy upon us—like this recent Iran deal that has left so many faithful hearts discouraged and Israel feeling betrayed by allies—we must remember our calling. I write not from despair but from burning hope. We are called to live as salt and light—preserving truth, shining amid decay—while our hearts remain fixed on a Kingdom not of this world. Our hope is not in shifting alliances or earthly powers, but in the unchanging God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He who watches over Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps.

Do not lose heart. May these lines stir you to stand boldly: loving what God loves, hating what He hates, watching on the wall, warning against evil, and trumpeting the glorious Gospel louder still while time remains. The King is coming. Let us be found faithful.

With urgency and affection,

The Poet

In this dark age our feet yet tread the sod,

Yet hope abides not here where empires fall;

As salt we season, preserve the path of God,

Though not of this world—our true home is all.

More in the Word, less in its fleeting tide,

We walk as strangers, pilgrims through the night;

The miry clay cannot our souls abide,

For heaven’s call outshines its false delight.

End-time scrolls unroll their solemn page:

Nations conspire, betraying Israel’s vine;

They scorn the covenant, inflame their rage—

Yet we remain, as salt, by grace divine.

We flavor truth where decay would claim the day,

Loving what God loves and hating what He hates;

We take our stand against the evil’s sway,

And shine as beacons ‘gainst the gathering storm.

May we be watchmen, watchwomen on the wall,

Warning all against the evils of the day;

Yet trumpeting salvation’s glorious call,

For time is short—the signs upon the earth obey.

Not bound by earthly crowns that rot away,

Our citizenship is where the angels form;

The fig tree greens, the birth pangs multiply,

Wars thunder loud, false prophets fill the air.

But we, preserved by Him who cannot die,

Proclaim His coming—bright, beyond compare;

So let us shine as salt upon the land,

In this world present, yet from it set free.

Our King approaches with the trumpet’s grand—

Redeemed, restored, for all eternity.

Fix eyes on glory past the temporal fray,

Where salt finds purpose in the Savior’s hand;

Not of this realm, yet salt till break of day—

In Christ our hope, the Rock on which we stand.

Through Jesus Christ We Behold Eternal Sunshine: A Hymn of Grace Celebrating the Cross, the Empty Tomb, and the Glorious Light of the Lamb by Debbie Harris

Dear Reader,

From the poet’s heart:

In these lines I have sought to echo the thunderous joy of Charles Spurgeon, that prince of preachers who ever lifted high the Sun of Righteousness. May this humble verse stir your soul to fix its gaze upon Jesus Christ, in whom alone we find eternal sunshine—unclouded, unending, and freely given to every weary pilgrim who trusts in Him. Read it slowly, aloud if you can, and let the ancient truths shine afresh in your spirit.

Grace and peace be yours in abundance through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Malachi 4:2 (KJV)

But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

In realms where tempests rage and shadows creep,

Where sin’s dark clouds their heavy burdens heap,

A radiant beam from heaven’s throne descends—

Through Jesus Christ, eternal sunshine bends!

Behold the cross, a tree of wondrous grace,

Where blood-red rivers wash the sinner’s face;

Its arms outstretched like golden rays unfurled,

Illuminate the weary, broken world.

No more the night of guilt’s oppressive gloom,

No more the frost of death’s impending doom—

The Sun of Righteousness arises bright,

With healing wings that chase away the night.

See how the valleys bloom in verdant green,

Where once the thorns of sorrow pierced unseen;

The desert hearts, once parched and cracked with pain,

Now drink the living streams of heaven’s rain.

Mountains of doubt dissolve in morning light,

As crystal dews of mercy kiss the height;

The lily pure, the rose of Sharon fair,

Proclaim His glory in the fragrant air.

O soul adrift on oceans wild and vast,

Where waves of trial crash and thunder blast—

Lift up thine eyes! The Pilot stands serene,

His voice commands the storm to calm, serene.

Through Jesus Christ, the skies forever blue,

Eternal sunshine bathes the ransomed few;

No eclipse dims the Lamb upon the throne,

Whose glory lights the city as His own.

The pilgrim’s path, though rugged, gleams with gold,

Each step a jewel in the crown foretold;

The ancient gates of pearl swing open wide,

Revealing pastures where the saints abide.

No winter’s chill, no autumn’s fading leaf,

But spring eternal, free from pain and grief—

In robes of white, beneath the endless day,

We bask forever in His shining ray.

Come, burdened one, beneath the yoke of care,

Lay down thy load; the Saviour’s yoke is fair.

His gentle hand will lead through fields of peace,

Where sorrows end and joys forever increase.

The chains of fear that bound the captive soul

Now melt like frost before His bright control;

In liberty divine, the spirit sings,

And soars on wings of love beneath His wings.

See heaven’s throne, where crystal rivers flow,

And trees of life in endless summer grow;

No need of sun or moon to give their light,

The Lamb Himself dispels all shades of night.

The ransomed throng in white arrayed proclaim,

“Worthy the Lamb that once for sinners slain!”

Their voices blend in everlasting praise,

Through endless ages, in undimmed blaze.

O death, where is thy sting? Thy victory lost!

The grave no more can claim its chilling frost.

For He who rose triumphant from the tomb

Has turned our midnight into endless noon.

The former things have passed, forgotten, gone;

Behold, all things are new in morning’s dawn.

Through Jesus Christ, the Victor over all,

Eternal sunshine crowns both great and small.

Awake, my soul, and sing this joyful strain,

Let every tongue repeat the glad refrain:

Through Jesus Christ, the Light that knows no end,

The King whose throne the heavens vast defend.

Come, weary one, and taste this joy divine—

Eternal sunshine, yours and ever mine!

No cloud shall dim, no storm shall ever rise,

In Christ alone our sun forever shines.

If Deliverance Delays for the People of Esther and Mordecai: The Iranian Serpent Reigns — Defined by Darkness by Debbie Harris

A Note from the Poet

Dear Reader,

These words were written with trembling hands and a heavy heart. In the spirit of Esther and Mordecai, this poem gives voice to a people once more standing beneath gallows raised by those who seek their total destruction. The demonic Muslim-led regime in Iran is a present terror, boasting annihilation while the world often turns away.

Yet I write with unshaken hope: the same Jesus who cast out demons, who broke the power of hell, and who rose victorious over every dark throne still reigns. His authority is greater than any serpent, any regime, any blood-red crescent. Even if deliverance tarries, the Lion of Judah — Jesus the Messiah — will have the final word. The night may devour for a season, but it cannot overcome the One who has already conquered sin, death, and every demonic force.

Pray with the remnant. Fast and cry out. Jesus holds the scroll of history and the keys of hell itself.

With solemn hope anchored in Christ,

The Poet

In shadowed chambers where the gallows loom,

The seed of Esther and Mordecai arise.

Beneath a tyrant’s blood-red crescent moon,

They lift their prayers against demonic skies.

Haman’s heirs in tunnels dark and deep,

With rocket’s shriek and suicide’s embrace,

Have sworn the ancient covenant to break

And blot out Jacob’s name from every place.

Yet sackcloth hearts in hidden rooms still fast,

Mothers, children, elders on their knees;

Their whispered pleas through tear and smoke ascend—

For if deliverance delays, what tragedy?

If freedom tarries, demonic horror reigns:

The serpent’s spawn will feast on blood and bone,

Cities turned to ash, the innocent slain,

A Holocaust renewed beneath their throne.

Mordecai still paces sleepless walls,

Esther dons her royal robes of faith;

“No accident this terror’s bitter hour—

For such a time as this,” the Spirit saith.

The serpent regime coils with poison breath,

Boasting death from Gaza’s pits to Tehran’s throne;

Yet Heaven’s ledger may still turn—or not—

The God of Purim sits upon His own.

O remnant of the Star and Shield, hold fast!

The dice of Haman roll across the land,

We do not know if freedom comes at last,

Or if the night devours us—yet defines us where we stand.

Sing, O Israel, though the night is long,

The scroll of Esther burns within your veins;

Each tefillah a hammer on the strong,

Each Shabbat candle breaks what darkness gains.

The Lion of Judah stirs—yet may stay still,

His roar withheld behind the veil of flame;

What man devised for evil, God alone will will—

Reversal dawns… or else the darkness claims.

From crimson banners torn and gallows built,

The wicked laugh upon the swords they drew;

Devoured or delivered, this trial defines us through and through—

We do not know if freedom comes… yet still we cry, O God, turn the plot… or we die.

**O Jesus, turn the plot—our hope is in Your might!**

Psalm 97:10 – A Classical Ode by Debbie Harris

From the Poet

Dear Reader,

In a world that whispers “just a little compromise,” Psalm 97:10 rings like a clarion call from heaven: “You who love the Lord, hate evil!” This ode is my humble attempt to clothe that divine command in classical dress — rich with the thunder and lightning of the Psalm itself, the unyielding cedar of conviction, and the certain dawn of the coming King.

May these lines strengthen your heart to stand unmoved. Hate what God hates. Love what He loves. Refuse every gilded truce with darkness. The King is returning in glory, and righteousness shall dawn.

With prayer and holy resolve,

The Poet

Psalm 97:10

KJV

Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.

ESV

O you who love the LORD, hate evil! He preserves the lives of his saints; he delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

AMP

You who love the LORD, hate evil; He protects the souls of His godly ones (believers), He rescues them from the hand of the wicked.

NIV

Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

O ye who love the Eternal Flame, whose breast

Doth throb with holy fire unquenched by night,

Hate evil as the serpent’s venomous crest

That poisons Eden’s bowers with subtle blight!

Let not thy foot in compromise be led

Where shadows weave their silken, treacherous thread;

Nor let thy hand in friendship’s false embrace

Clasp hands that bear the mark of darkness’ race.

Behold the throne where Righteousness and Truth

Like twin seraphim guard the sapphire height!

Clouds mantle Him in majesty uncouth

To mortal gaze, yet blaze with living light.

Lightning leaps forth—His arrows swift and keen—

And mountains melt like wax where sin hath been.

The heavens declare His glory, earth obeys,

And every idol crashes in the blaze.

Thou, saint of God, preserved amid the flood

Of raging wickedness that swells and roars,

Shalt stand unmoved, a cedar in the wood

When tempests howl and lesser branches fall.

No compromise with Belial’s gilded lies,

No truce with Mammon’s lustful, hungry eyes;

Thy convictions, forged in heaven’s anvil bright,

Shall shine as adamant against the night.

Let evil’s hosts in purple pomp advance,

With crowns of fading laurel on their brow;

Thy soul shall spurn their revels and their dance,

And turn to Zion’s hill with steadfast vow.

For He who loves thee guards thy life with care—

From wicked hands He snatches thee from snare.

The oil of joy upon thy head is poured;

Thy path is lit by His unfailing Word.

Thus sing, O heart that loves the Lord alone:

“Hate evil! Cling to good with iron will!”

Though darkness rage and tempters slyly drone,

The upright soul shall climb the holy hill.

No compromise, though empires tempt and fall;

Thy King returns in glory—Righteousness shall dawn!

The Silent Tragedy: When the Word Sin Is Eradicated from a Culture by Debbie Harris

Dear Reader,

From the poet:

In an age that has quietly erased the word sin from its vocabulary, I offer this poem not as condemnation, but as a solemn reminder and an urgent invitation. Once we lose the honest naming of our rebellion against God and His good order, we also lose the path to true forgiveness and restoration.

May these lines stir the conscience, awaken the heart, and turn every soul toward the only One who can save us from our sins—Jesus Christ our Lord.

Will you and I be among those who still dare to call sin sin, and thereby point a broken world to the Savior?

In elder days when thunder voiced the Law

And prophets walked the flinty roads of old,

The word sin rang as iron on the soul—

A blade that clove the heart, a bell of gold

That tolled repentance ere the grave grew cold.

Now from the common tongue the word is fled,

Like some archaic curse no longer named.

The pulpits soften, courts declare it dead,

And schools instruct the young: “No soul is blamed.”

All acts are neutral flowers, self-blessed, untamed.

O tragic void! Where once the pilgrim knelt

Beneath the weight of wrong and cried for grace,

Now mirrors only flatter, conscience melts

Into a mist of “feelings,” “choice,” and “space.”

No fall remains; thus no redemption waits.

The ancient bards knew better. Homer sang

Of wrath that spoiled the host and felled the brave;

Virgil beheld the guilty shades who clang

Their chains in Tartarus, unshriven, save

By memory of trespass and the grave.

Dante, fierce Florentine, with measured tread

Descended hell’s nine circles, naming each

By sin’s true name—fraud, lust, pride, the dread

Of treason’s frozen lake. No gentle speech

Could blunt the horror; truth alone could teach.

Milton, blind but seeing, raised his song

To justify the ways of God to men,

And showed how one transgression, vast and strong,

Brought death and all our woe. Yet even then

The greater arc of mercy rose again.

But strip away the word and what remains?

A culture sleek with self, where every vice

Is rechristened “lifestyle,” “identity,” or “gains.”

No prodigal returns; no broken cries

Ascend. The temple stands, but God’s house lies

In ruins of the tongue. The heart grows coarse,

Untroubled by the stain it will not see.

Ambition swells to empire without remorse,

And cruelty wears the mask of liberty.

The final darkness falls—yet no one flees.

Restore the word, sharp as a surgeon’s knife,

That cuts the canker out before it kills.

Let sin once more awaken mortal strife

Between the soul and its rebellious will,

Till humbled knees recall the ancient skill

Of seeking pardon. Only then may rise

The triumph of the Cross that ends all pain:

Forgiveness purchased at Redemption’s price,

Where sin confessed is washed in crimson rain,

And man, once fallen, stands upright again.

Will you and I be those who call sin sin,

Thereby pointing all to the Savior strong—

Who saves lost souls from every stain within

Through Jesus Christ our Lord, the endless song

Of grace that makes the broken whole, restored.

The Herald’s Celestial Fire: An Ornate Proclamation of Scripture’s Perfection, the Godhead’s Glory, and the Urgent Call to Repentance by Debbie Harris

Dear Reader,

I cannot be silent.

The same divine compulsion that seized the prophet Jeremiah still burns within the bones of every true herald of the Triune God. It is no mere emotional surge, but a sovereign ignition of the Holy Spirit — that burning fire shut up in the marrow of the soul, weary with restraint and impossible to contain. In a generation steeped in theological compromise, cultural idolatry, and a gospel diluted by human preference, the perfect, inerrant Word of our eternal Father, incarnate Son, and proceeding Spirit demands unashamed proclamation.

This is no abstract orthodoxy. It is the living tension of divine perfections: the holiness that kindles wrath against all ungodliness, the justice that demands satisfaction for treason against the Creator, and the mercy that flows from the riven side of the crucified Lamb. Here, at the cross, wrath and mercy kiss in substitutionary atonement — the Father crushing His beloved Son under the full weight of cosmic justice, so that sinners might be declared righteous by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. The inner-rant is thus both judgment and invitation: a holy violence against the rebel heart, clothed in the tenderness that pleads, “Turn! Why will you die?”

This poem is my feeble attempt to echo that prophetic fire — not as ornament for the ear, but as a thunderclap from the sapphire throne. It weaves the inerrancy of Scripture, the sovereignty of the Godhead, the urgency of escaping the second death, and the triumphant hope of resurrection life. May it stir within you the same unresting zeal: to speak with boldness and conviction, yet always bathed in the love that sent the Son to bear the cup of wrath we deserved.

We cannot be silent. Souls hang suspended between eternal glory and eternal perdition. The Kingdom advances through voices unashamed. Repent, believe the Gospel, and join the heralds before the Day of the Lord dawns.

For the glory of the Father, the exaltation of the risen Lamb, and the powerful working of the Spirit —

The Poet

Jeremiah 20:9 (ESV)

If I say, ‘I will not mention him, or speak any more in his name,’ there is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I am weary with holding it in, and I cannot.

Romans 1:16 (ESV)

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes…

In triune sapphire throne where Three shine One—

Ancient of Days enthroned on crystal sea,

The slaughtered Lamb whose wounds outshine the sun,

The rushing Wind that sets the prophet free—

Mercy awakens holy inner-tide,

A seraph’s coal upon the trembling lip,

A furnace veiled in flesh, a burning bride,

That storms the gates of death with thunderous grip.

Not silken phrases honeyed for the snake,

But living oracles, a lightning blade

That cleaves the marrow, rends the veiled heart awake,

And drags to blazing light the sins long laid.

Like Sinai’s crown of flame on trembling peak,

It thunders “Thus saith I AM!” through kings’ halls,

While mercy, robed in blood, begins to speak

And shatters rebel thrones with trumpet calls.

As Jeremiah’s bones became a blaze

No mortal vessel could contain or tame,

So mercy storms the dungeon of our days,

With courage forged in love’s eternal flame.

Conviction rolls like cherubim’s four wings,

Yet from the riven side sweet mercy streams—

A crimson river where the sinner clings,

While heaven’s justice and compassion gleams.

The flawless Word, more pure than gold refined,

More fixed than Zion’s mount or starry choir,

Upholds the wheeling galaxies aligned

And every soul beneath the Judge’s fire.

No jot shall fade, no tittle ever fall,

Though heaven and earth dissolve in final roar;

Its granite truth outlasts the siren’s call

And breaks the chains of death forevermore.

O inner fire, Ezekiel’s whirlwind throne,

A coal from off the altar’s glowing hearth,

It bursts the iron mouth, the heart of stone,

And summons corpses from the grave of wrath.

God’s wrath is holy—white, devouring light,

Not petty storm but cosmic justice pure,

Yet on the altar’s wood of darkest night

The Lamb absorbs the blaze and makes it sure.

There wrath and mercy kiss in wounds divine,

The Father’s pleasure crushing His own Son;

The Spirit seals the pardon with a sign—

The risen Lion, slaughtered, now the One.

With Peter’s voice like rushing mighty wind,

With Stephen’s countenance as angel-flame,

The herald lifts the cross through scorn and din,

That rebels might escape the wrath to come.

No terror of the crowd, no iron chain,

Can quench the love that risks eternal shame;

For every soul plucked from the second pain

Becomes a living trophy to His Name.

Thus mercy speaks—unflinching, robed in tears—

The blameless Word in whirlwind and in plea:

“Repent! Believe! The Kingdom’s gate appears!”

Flee wrath, and reign with Christ eternally.
