Living As If Jesus Were Returning: Sonnets of Expectant Faith is a collection of ten Shakespearean sonnets, each a vibrant call to live with the imminent hope of Christ’s return. Written in iambic pentameter with an ABAB CDCD EFEF GG rhyme scheme, the series portrays faithful souls—redeemed and expectant—embodying Jesus’ teachings as if He might appear at any moment. Sonnet I: The Watcher begins with a vigilant soul scanning the skies, followed by Sonnet II: The Servant serving others with urgency, Sonnet III: The Prayer lifting fervent pleas, and Sonnet IV: The Giver sharing all with heaven in view. Sonnet V: The Proclaimer boldly spreads the gospel, while Sonnet VI: The Peacemaker heals rifts, and Sonnet VII: The Laborer works diligently for Christ. Sonnet VIII: The Penitent repents daily, Sonnet IX: The Lover pours out love like Jesus, and Sonnet X: The Waiter stands ready in longing. Each sonnet shifts at the volta from worldly distraction to eternal focus, concluding with a couplet affirming Christ’s nearness, together weaving a poetic testament to living faithfully in anticipation of His glorious return.

Sonnet I: The Watcher
The dawn breaks soft, yet swift my gaze ascends,
For Christ may rend the heavens any morn,
I watch the clouds, where mortal time suspends,
His promise gleams, my soul anew reborn.
The world may sleep, its cares a fleeting chase,
But I abide, my vigil ever keen,
Each rustling wind might bear His holy face,
A royal hope in all that I’ve foreseen.
The scoffer laughs, “Thy wait is but a jest,”
Yet faith holds firm, my heart a steady flame,
Through every hour, His coming I attest,
An heir awake to call His sacred name.
So here I stand, my eyes on high unfurled,
Living as if my Savior claims the world.

Sonnet II: The Servant
The day unfolds, my hands to others lend,
For Christ may call ere twilight stains the sky,
I serve the least, their burdens I befriend,
His love through me till trumpets sound on high.
The proud may hoard, their wealth a hollow boast,
But I pour out, my time a fleeting gift,
Each act of care a thread in heaven’s host,
A royal task my spirit dares to lift.
The world may spurn the meek with cold disdain,
Yet I, a servant, mirror Christ’s own way,
Through selfless deeds, His kingdom shall remain,
An heir prepared for that unyielding day.
So still I toil, my heart in service bent,
Living as if His reign is imminent.

Sonnet III: The Prayer
The silence hums, my knees to earth descend,
For Christ may break the stars with sudden might,
I lift my voice, my soul to Him I send,
His ear my hope through every fleeting night.
The world may rush, its noise a ceaseless din,
But I retreat, my pleas a fervent stream,
Each whispered word a shield against the sin,
A royal cry to greet my coming King.
The faithless mock, “Thy prayers fade unheard,”
Yet I, a prayer, feel peace within my core,
Through every plea, His promise is assured,
An heir attuned to glory’s open door.
So here I kneel, my spirit’s watch unfazed,
Living as if His name shall soon be praised.

Sonnet IV: The Giver
The morn brings light, my store I freely share,
For Christ may come ere shadows stretch too long,
I give my all, no wealth do I forswear,
His bounty mine till heaven’s final song.
The greedy clutch, their gold a fleeting crown,
But I release, my hands an open gate,
Each coin bestowed, a seed in sacred ground,
A royal trust before it grows too late.
The world may hoard, its riches cold and vain,
Yet I, a giver, seek a higher store,
Through open palms, His mercy shall sustain,
An heir who knows what lasts forevermore.
So still I pour, my gifts a joyful flight,
Living as if His dawn shall split the night.

Sonnet V: The Proclaimer
The streets awake, my tongue shall not be stilled,
For Christ may ride the clouds ere day is done,
I shout His truth, my voice with zeal is filled,
His gospel bold till all the lost are won.
The world may sneer, “Thy words a fool’s refrain,”
But I press on, my call a clarion cry,
Each soul I reach, a link in heaven’s chain,
A royal charge beneath an open sky.
The timid shrink, their silence cloaks their fear,
Yet I, proclaimer, bear His news with might,
Through scorn and doubt, His coming draweth near,
An heir aflame with everlasting light.
So here I speak, my heart a burning brand,
Living as if His throne is close at hand.

Sonnet VI: The Peacemaker
The discord rings, my voice seeks calm to sow,
For Christ may split the heavens any hour,
I mend the breach, His peace I strive to show,
His love my bridge till judgment’s final power.
The world delights in strife, a bitter game,
But I extend my hand, a gentle plea,
Each rift I heal, a whisper of His name,
A royal balm for all eternity.
The wrathful clash, their anger blinds their sight,
Yet I, peacemaker, weave His tranquil thread,
Through every wrong, His grace shall set aright,
An heir who lives as though the end were sped.
So still I bind, my soul in concord dressed,
Living as if His reign shall soon be blest.

Sonnet VII: The Laborer
The task begins, my sweat a sacred rite,
For Christ may call before my work is through,
I toil with zeal, my hands in His delight,
His will my aim in all I strive to do.
The world may slack, its labor idly spent,
But I press on, my craft a holy care,
Each deed I shape, a testament unbent,
A royal mark for Him I long to bear.
The careless drift, their purpose lost to ease,
Yet I, a laborer, serve with fervent soul,
Through every chore, His glory I appease,
An heir who works as if the skies unroll.
So here I strive, my effort’s steady flame,
Living as if He comes to call my name.

Sonnet VIII: The Penitent
The heart grows still, my sins I humbly lay,
For Christ may rend the veil ere night descends,
I seek His face, my guilt I cast away,
His mercy flows where brokenness amends.
The world may strut, its pride a fleeting crown,
But I confess, my soul in dust reclines,
Each tear a plea, His pardon I have found,
A royal grace through all my flawed designs.
The bold may boast, their faults they will not see,
Yet I, a penitent, bow low in shame,
Through every fault, His love redeems the free,
An heir cleansed pure before His holy flame.
So here I kneel, my spirit’s slate made clean,
Living as if His judgment intervenes.

Sonnet IX: The Lover
The day is bright, my heart to all outpoured,
For Christ may come ere evening shadows fall,
I love with might, His passion my reward,
His boundless care my anthem and my call.
The world grows cold, its bonds a shallow tie,
But I embrace, my soul a fervent stream,
Each soul I hold, a glimpse of Him on high,
A royal love in every waking dream.
The selfish hoard, their hearts a barren plain,
Yet I, a lover, mirror Christ’s own way,
Through every touch, His warmth shall still remain,
An heir who lives as if it’s judgment day.
So here I give, my love a ceaseless tide,
Living as if my King is by my side.

Sonnet X: The Waiter
The dusk draws near, my soul in stillness stands,
For Christ may break the silence with His cry,
I wait with hope, my life within His hands,
His promised dawn my spirit’s lifted eye.
The world may chase its fleeting joys below,
But I hold fast, my watch a patient art,
Each fleeting breath, His coming I bestow,
A royal trust deep rooted in my heart.
The faithless drift, their dreams a fading gleam,
Yet I, a waiter, long for heaven’s sound,
Through twilight’s hush, His glory reigns supreme,
An heir prepared where grace shall yet abound.
So here I pause, my longing pure and strong,
Living as if His reign shall not be long.

As Poets Wrote, His Royal Voice Proclaims Our Crown, Robing Us in Gold and Gems of Endless Splendour by Debbie Harris

The sonnet draws from Acts 17:28 (KJV), “For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring,” to envision the Savior’s majestic affirmation of humanity’s divine origin. It begins with the poets’ written wisdom—bold declarations that we exist and thrive in Him—elevated by His triumphant voice, likened to a trumpet splitting a sapphire tide. This voice robes the redeemed in regal splendor: garments woven from molten stars with golden rivers and silver threads of moonlight, dyed in deep purple as rich as amethyst, and adorned with blazing rubies, sapphires, emeralds, and diamonds. These gem-strewn robes, unfurling like banners, proclaim their noble status as His offspring, forged in celestial fire and crowned in joy. His scepter resounds with the poets’ ancient hymns, affirming that in Him, they shine eternally as His richly crowned heirs, their glory a testament to His boundless design.

As certain of your poets boldly cried,
“In Him we soar, His blood our golden vein,”
His voice, a trumpet, splits the sapphire tide,
And robes us all in splendor’s royal reign.
From molten stars He weaves our noble frame,
With silver threads like moonlight’s frozen gleam,
In purple deep as amethyst’s acclaim,
Gold rivers flow, His joy our endless theme.
Rubies blaze, and sapphires crown the fold,
Emeralds dance with diamond’s radiant might,
These gem-strewn robes, His banners to behold,
Enwrap our forms in heaven’s jeweled light.
His scepter rings, their ancient hymns resound,
In Him we shine, His offspring richly crowned.

From Hills He Leaps to Praise His Royal Redeemed, Their Beauty, Strength, and Love Proclaimed in Endless Song of Solomon’s Delight by Debbie Harris

The poet’s vision for these ten quatrains is to vividly capture the Savior’s boundless love and admiration for His royal redeemed, as inspired by the Song of Solomon’s poetic declarations. Rooted in Song of Solomon 2:8 (KJV)—”The voice of my beloved! behold, he cometh leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills”—the collection begins with His eager pursuit, setting the tone for a celebration of His redeemed as His cherished beloved. Each quatrain distills a distinct facet of how He sees them, drawn from key verses: their fairness like doves’ eyes (1:15), their spotless worth as treasure (4:7), their flourishing abundance as a sealed garden (4:12), their fragrance sweeter than wine (4:10), their majestic strength akin to cities and armies (6:4), their singular, chosen uniqueness (6:9), their role as His joy and rest (7:6), their captivating nobility like Carmel (7:5), and their eternal bond as a seal on His heart (8:6). The poet envisions these stanzas as a lyrical tapestry, weaving rich, sensory imagery—leaping hills, blooming gardens, purple hues, and unshakable seals—to proclaim the redeemed’s royal identity and the Savior’s delight in them. The ABAB rhyme scheme anchors each quatrain in clarity and rhythm, reflecting His unwavering voice, while the collective “they” underscores their unified glory as His people, forever exalted in His endless song of love.

1. As His Beloved (Song of Solomon 2:8)

From hills He leaps, His voice so clear and bright,
“My love,” He calls, with steps that never tire,
O’er mountains swift, He bounds in pure delight,
To claim His own, His heart’s one true desire.

2. As Fair and Beautiful (Song of Solomon 1:15)

“Thou art fair,” He says with tender gaze,
A dove’s soft eyes reflect His gentle care,
In beauty pure, His love for them ablaze,
No flaw He finds, their grace beyond compare.

3. As His Treasure and Delight (Song of Solomon 4:7)

All fair they stand, no spot to mar their frame,
His treasure shines, a joy to Him alone,
He holds them dear, His pleasure to proclaim,
Their worth to Him like gems upon a throne.

4. As a Garden of Abundance (Song of Solomon 4:12)

A garden closed, they bloom for Him so green,
A spring shut up, a fountain sealed with might,
Abundant life within their bounds is seen,
His sacred grove, His joy day and night.

5. As Fragrant and Pleasing (Song of Solomon 4:10)

Their love outpours, more sweet than wine’s rich flow,
A fragrance fine, their ointments fill the air,
He breathes them in, His heart begins to glow,
No spice can match the beauty they all share.

6. As Strong and Majestic (Song of Solomon 6:4)

Like Tirzah grand, their beauty holds the skies,
As Jerusalem, comely in their stand,
An army bold with banners in His eyes,
Their strength a crown upon His mighty hand.

7. As Unique and Chosen (Song of Solomon 6:9)

His dove, His one, undefiled and rare,
The choice of all, no other can compete,
One soul He picks from all the world to bear,
His love’s sole mark, His favor’s perfect seat.

8. As a Source of Joy and Rest (Song of Solomon 7:6)

How fair they shine, how pleasant to His sight,
A well of joy, His heart in them finds peace,
For pure delights, He holds them day and night,
Their presence makes all worldly cares decrease.

9. As Captivating and Enrapturing (Song of Solomon 7:5)

Their head like Carmel, noble in its height,
With hair as purple, royal in its hue,
The King is caught, enthralled by such a sight,
In galleries, His love for them shines true.

10. As His Eternal Companion (Song of Solomon 8:6)

A seal they set upon His heart so strong,
Love fierce as death, unyielding as the grave,
Through endless time, to Him they will belong,
His jealousy a bond no force can waive.

This triumphant Shakespearean sonnet, inspired by Lamentations 3:22-23 (KJV) — “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness” — exults in God’s victorious mercy and unwavering faithfulness. It portrays His love as a powerful force that lifts us from despair, banishing darkness with each new dawn. The poem celebrates how His compassion triumphs over trials, heralding a glorious redemption that resonates through every heart. With a tone of joyous victory, it concludes by calling all to proclaim His great faithfulness as our eternal rest.

The Lord’s great mercies lift us from the flame,
We are not lost, nor swallowed by the night,
His compassions, boundless, stake their claim,
A dawn of grace that banishes all fright.

Each morn they rise, anew, in glorious might,
A victor’s song o’er sorrow’s fleeting reign,
No storm can dim His love’s resplendent light,
For faithfulness, our banner, shall remain.

Through trials fierce, His mercy stands supreme,
A trumpet blast to herald endless day,
Our hearts rejoice, redeemed by heaven’s gleam,
In every breath, His triumph leads the way.

So raise the cry, let every voice attest,
Great is His faith, our everlasting rest!

The sonnet portrays the Church as a rigorous training ground where warriors for Jesus Christ are forged, not a passive or timid retreat. These warriors, bold in faith, stand as a visible threat to Satan and his demons, rejecting subservience to society’s pressures. Armed not with violence but with spiritual strength, they rise as kings and queens in Christ, shattering evil’s hold and securing victory through His power despite persecution.

The Church is not a shelter for the tame,
Nor quiet nook where cowards seek their rest,
A training ground to lift Christ’s mighty name,
Where warriors bold for Jesus stand the test.

Their strength shines clear, a beacon Satan sees,
No muted souls—their voices rend the skies,
A threat to hell, they shatter dark decrees,
No doormats these, but heirs where glory lies.

No blade they raise, no mortal war they fight,
Yet firm they stand, his demons quake in dread,
In Christ they thwart the tyrant’s cursed might,
As kings and queens, with holy fire they’re led.

Satan beholds, his heinous reign undone,
Through Jesus’ power, their victory is won.

Sonnet: The King’s Heart Is in the Hand of the Lord, As the Rivers of Water: He Turneth It Whithersoever He Will by Debbie Harris

This majestic Shakespearean sonnet, inspired by Proverbs 21:1 (KJV) — “The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will” — celebrates God’s sovereign authority over earthly rulers and human history. It portrays the king’s heart as a river guided by God’s hand, emphasizing His power to shape destinies despite human free will. The poem asserts that God’s royal courts direct the course of time, weaving all events into a divine tapestry. It concludes with a call to trust in God’s unchanging reign over all humanity.

The king’s heart lies within the Lord’s great hand,
As rivers turn where’er His will doth flow,
A mighty tide through time’s unyielding strand,
He shapes the crowns where mortal powers grow.

Though free will reigns in hearts of flesh below,
His royal courts o’errule each choice we claim,
Through every deed, His boundless might doth show,
A sovereign Lord, unchanging, still the same.

No earthly lord can thwart His grand design,
Nor human will outpace His sacred chart,
For in His grasp, all ages intertwine,
A tapestry ruled by His boundless heart.

So fear not freedom’s frail and fleeting span,
God’s courts assert His reign o’er every man.

From my heart to yours, may these sonnets lead you to the King of Kings!

The Royal Heir series is a collection of twelve Shakespearean sonnets, each exalting Jesus Christ by portraying a distinct royal heir—a symbolic every-soul redeemed by grace—within a unique profession or calling. Written in iambic pentameter with an ABAB CDCD EFEF GG rhyme scheme, the series spans a diverse array of lives, from the intimate to the authoritative, illustrating Christ’s transformative presence in every sphere. Royal Heir I: Sonnet In Service (The Counselor) begins with a servant guiding others with mercy, followed by Sonnet In Teaching (The Teacher) shaping minds with truth, Sonnet In Shepherding (The Pastor) tending souls with love, and Sonnet In Governing (The Politician) seeking justice in power’s fray. Sonnet In Song (The Musician) lifts melodies as prayer, while Sonnet In Judgment (The Judge) balances law with grace, and Sonnet In Defense (The Lawyer) defends truth with zeal. Leadership deepens with Sonnet In Rule (The Governor) guiding a land, Sonnet In Command (The President) steering a nation, and Sonnet In Waiting (The Vice President) serving in poised readiness. The series closes with the familial heart of Sonnet In Nurture (The Mother) cradling life in love and Sonnet In Guidance (The Father) leading kin with strength. Each sonnet shifts at the volta from earthly duty to inner redemption, concluding with a couplet affirming the Savior’s enduring light, together forming a poetic tapestry that celebrates faith across all walks of life.

Sonnet I: The Witness
The streets alive with noise that knows no God,
A secular hum where faith is but a jest,
I walk alone, my heart by Christ unshod,
His name my shield against the world’s unrest.
The towers gleam, their glass a cold disdain,
They whisper low, “Your King is but a tale,”
Yet in my soul, His fire shall remain,
A royal truth no scorn can e’er assail.
The crowd may laugh, their eyes with pity gleam,
But I, a witness, bear His cross with pride,
Through din and doubt, His love shall reign supreme,
An heir unbowed where lesser hopes subside.
So here I stand, a voice amid the throng,
My Savior’s praise my everlasting song.

Sonnet II: The Scholar
The halls resound with wisdom’s hollow claim,
A secular throne where doubt is crowned as king,
I hold my book, its words a sacred flame,
For Christ alone my mind shall ever sing.
Their theories clash, they mock my simple creed,
“Thy faith,” they sneer, “a relic of the past,”
Yet in these lines, I find the truth I need,
A royal lore no reason can outlast.
The learned scorn, their pride a towering wall,
But I, a scholar, kneel to wisdom’s source,
Through pages worn, His light shall never fall,
An heir steadfast on heaven’s steady course.
So still I read, my heart a quiet stand,
My Savior’s truth my reason shall command.

Sonnet III: The Worker
The shop awakes with clamor void of grace,
A secular grind where faith is swept aside,
I lift my hands, my toil a holy place,
For Christ within my labor shall abide.
Their jests fly swift, “Thy God brings naught to gain,”
They curse His name through sweat and steel’s harsh din,
Yet in my soul, a peace shall still remain,
A royal strength no mockery can thin.
The world may see a drudge in dust and grime,
But I, a worker, bear His mark divine,
Through task and taunt, His love transcends all time,
An heir unyielding in this mortal line.
So daily still, I work with heart sincere,
My Savior’s will my every burden cheer.

Sonnet IV: The Outcast
The throng departs, their scorn a bitter wind,
A secular tide that casts my faith astray,
I stand alone, by Christ my soul is pinned,
His cross my strength where others turn away.
They shun my voice, “Thy creed offends our peace,”
Their doors are shut, their fellowship denied,
Yet in my heart, His mercy shall increase,
A royal bond no exile can divide.
The world may brand me foe to all their ways,
But I, an outcast, wear His name with glee,
Through banishment, His light shall still ablaze,
An heir redeemed where none but He can see.
So here I dwell, apart yet not forlorn,
My Savior’s love my refuge ever born.

Sonnet V: The Artist
The canvas waits, a world that spurns my theme,
A secular muse where beauty bows to none,
I paint my Lord, His grace my grand esteem,
For Christ inspires the strokes that I’ve begun.
Their galleries mock, “Thy art a quaint old lie,”
They laud the void, their colors cold and bare,
Yet in my lines, His truth shall never die,
A royal vision rising through the air.
The critics jeer, their taste a hollow throne,
But I, an artist, frame His face divine,
Through brush and hue, His glory stands alone,
An heir unshaken in this craft of mine.
So still I wield my palette for His reign,
My Savior’s light my every shade sustain.

Sonnet VI: The Healer
The wards arise with cries that shun my prayer,
A secular veil where science reigns supreme,
I tend their flesh, my faith a whispered air,
For Christ anoints the hands that seek to redeem.
They scoff aloud, “Thy God has no domain,”
Their charts deny the soul beneath the skin,
Yet in my touch, His mercy shall remain,
A royal balm where healing may begin.
The world may trust in steel and sterile lore,
But I, a healer, see His work unfold,
Through pain and cure, His love I can’t ignore,
An heir steadfast with grace that won’t grow cold.
So daily still, I mend with quiet might,
My Savior’s peace my lantern in the night.

Sonnet VII: The Merchant
The market hums with gain that knows no creed,
A secular chase where gold is all they seek,
I trade my wares, my faith a planted seed,
For Christ upholds the honesty I speak.
They bribe and cheat, “Thy truth will cost thee dear,”
Their scales are tipped, their hearts a hollow shell,
Yet in my stall, His justice lingers near,
A royal code no profit can dispel.
The world may prize the wealth that rusts away,
But I, a merchant, weigh a higher store,
Through barter bold, His light shall hold its sway,
An heir unbowed where greed shall reign no more.
So still I stand, my ledger pure and plain,
My Savior’s will my everlasting gain.

Sonnet VIII: The Parent
The home awakes with youth that drifts afar,
A secular pull where faith is deemed a chain,
I guide my own, my love their northern star,
For Christ renews the hope that I maintain.
They hear the world, “Thy God is but a yoke,”
Their peers deride the prayers we softly say,
Yet in my arms, His strength shall still invoke,
A royal guard through night and fleeting day.
The age may scorn the hearth where faith is sown,
But I, a parent, plant His word with care,
Through doubt and storm, His truth shall not be thrown,
An heir steadfast, His cross my kin shall bear.
So daily still, I nurture undismayed,
My Savior’s grace my children’s barricade.

Sonnet IX: The Elder
The years unfold, a world that youth reveres,
A secular dawn where age is cast aside,
I hold my ground, my faith through silvered years,
For Christ sustains the soul where I reside.
They pass me by, “Thy time has lost its sway,”
Their haste forgets the wisdom I have earned,
Yet in my heart, His promise shall not stray,
A royal flame that time has never burned.
The young may chase a fleeting, hollow gleam,
But I, an elder, stand with steady gaze,
Through fading days, His love shall reign supreme,
An heir unbowed in life’s unyielding maze.
So still I rise, my spirit ever strong,
My Savior’s peace my anthem all along.

Sonnet X: The Proclaimer
The square resounds with ears that will not hear,
A secular roar where truth is drowned in din,
I lift my voice, my King I’ll not forswear,
For Christ empowers the words that I begin.
They shout me down, “Thy gospel spoils our ease,”
Their rage a wall, their hearts a locked embrace,
Yet in my cry, His mercy shall increase,
A royal call no silence can displace.
The world may close its gates to all I preach,
But I, a proclaimer, bear His news with might,
Through storm and scorn, His kingdom I beseech,
An heir undaunted in this holy fight.
So here I speak, my tongue a sacred flame,
My Savior’s glory evermore proclaim.

The sonnet “A Plea for Righteous Reckoning,” inspired by Psalm 7:9 (KJV)—”Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins”—is a prayer to God, asking Him to end the wickedness of the unjust and bring their evil deeds to a close. It seeks the strengthening and protection of the righteous, acknowledging God as the righteous judge who examines the innermost thoughts and desires of all people. The poem contrasts the downfall of the wicked with the triumph of the just, emphasizing divine justice that penetrates beyond human perception, ultimately establishing peace and righteousness through God’s eternal authority.

O Lord, let wickedness at last be stilled,
Its dark dominion brought to swift decay,
The wicked’s guile by Thee alone is willed,
To end their reign in Thine appointed day.

Establish firm the just, who seek Thy face,
Their souls upright beneath Thy holy sight,
For Thou, O God, dost try each hidden place,
The hearts and reins revealed in righteous light.

Thy judgment pierces deep where mortals fail,
No thought escapes Thy pure and probing eye,
The just arise where wicked powers quail,
Their malice hushed beneath Thy boundless sky.

So let their evil cease, their strength unwind,
While justice reigns, eternal and refined.

Christ Over Humanism and Every Ism: A Sonnet Series is a collection of twelve Shakespearean sonnets, each a resolute declaration of Christ’s supremacy over ideologies that oppose biblical truth. Written in iambic pentameter with an ABAB CDCD EFEF GG rhyme scheme, the series confronts a dozen “isms” with poetic fervor, exalting Jesus as the ultimate authority. Sonnet I: Against Humanism begins by rejecting man’s prideful self-rule, followed by Sonnet II: Against Progressivism upholding scripture over shifting morals, Sonnet III: Against Socialism defending individual freedom, and Sonnet IV: Against Marxism choosing peace over class strife. Sonnet V: Against Communism defies godless tyranny, while Sonnet VI: Against Materialism seeks eternal riches, Sonnet VII: Against Secularism resists faith’s silencing, and Sonnet VIII: Against Relativism anchors truth in Christ. Sonnet IX: Against Atheism affirms God’s presence, Sonnet X: Against Liberalism rejects unbound liberty, and Sonnet XI: Against Satanism overcomes darkness with light, culminating in Sonnet XII: Christ Triumphant, where all isms fall before His throne. Each sonnet shifts at the volta from worldly error to divine victory, concluding with a couplet proclaiming Christ’s reign, together forming a poetic testament to His sovereignty over every human creed.

Sonnet I: Against Humanism
The humanist exalts his mortal throne,
“Man is the measure,” cries his proud decree,
Yet flesh alone shall crumble, dust and bone,
For Christ my King holds all eternity.
They laud their wit, their reason’s fleeting reign,
No God above, they claim their minds suffice,
But wisdom fades, their boasts a hollow strain,
A royal truth their folly can’t entice.
The world may bow to self in fleeting gleam,
But I reject this creed of hollow pride,
Through man’s vain tower, His light shall reign supreme,
An heir to grace where human hopes subside.
So here I stand, His word my steady guide,
Christ over all, no ism shall abide.

Sonnet II: Against Progressivism
The progressive shifts with every fleeting wind,
“Truth bends to time,” their fluid anthem sings,
Yet scripture stands, unyielding to their bend,
For Christ my Rock defies their wandering springs.
They cast old ways, “The past must be outgrown,”
Morals remade, their compass ever turns,
But God’s own law in stone is firmly sown,
A royal code their progress never earns.
The world may cheer this march of shifting sand,
But I hold fast, His word my fixed delight,
Through tides of change, His truth shall ever stand,
An heir to grace amidst their endless flight.
So here I root, my faith shall not be swayed,
Christ over all, His statutes I’ve obeyed.

Sonnet III: Against Socialism
The socialist binds all to state’s embrace,
“Thy good is ours,” their collective voice demands,
Yet freedom bows, ensnared in forced grace,
For Christ my Lord calls souls, not earthly hands.
They seize the fruit, “No man shall rise alone,”
Their yoke a chain, disguised as common care,
But God’s own gift is mine to call my own,
A royal path their system cannot share.
The world may laud this net of equal claim,
But I resist, my soul to Him belongs,
Through leveled fields, His name I still proclaim,
An heir to grace above their binding wrongs.
So here I stand, my liberty secure,
Christ over all, His freedom shall endure.

Sonnet IV: Against Marxism
The Marxist stirs with class a bitter war,
“Thy wealth condemns,” their battle cry resounds,
Yet hate divides where peace should reign the more,
For Christ my Prince brings concord that confounds.
They topple thrones, “The worker shall arise,”
Their rage a flood, no mercy in their creed,
But love, not strife, is heaven’s grand surprise,
A royal balm for every human need.
The world may clash in factions torn apart,
But I, in faith, seek unity divine,
Through conflict’s din, His peace shall rule my heart,
An heir to grace where all His children shine.
So here I dwell, His kingdom my desire,
Christ over all, no class shall quench His fire.

Sonnet V: Against Communism
The communist decrees a godless state,
“All bow to us,” their iron edict falls,
Yet souls unclaimed shall seek a higher fate,
For Christ my King o’er every power calls.
They strip the faith, “No Lord shall rule but man,”
Their chains erase the hope of heaven’s shore,
But in my breast, His promise still shall span,
A royal truth no tyrant can ignore.
The world may bend beneath their crimson sway,
But I defy, my spirit ever free,
Through darkened rule, His light shall lead my way,
An heir to grace beyond their stern decree.
So here I rise, His name my endless plea,
Christ over all, His reign eternity.

Sonnet VI: Against Materialism
The materialist craves the fleeting gold,
“Thy worth is here,” their shallow anthem cries,
Yet rust consumes what hands so dearly hold,
For Christ my Wealth in endless glory lies.
They chase the shine, their hearts a hollow shell,
No thought of soul, just treasures of the dust,
But I seek gems no market can compel,
A royal store in Him I place my trust.
The world may heap its riches high and grand,
But I renounce, my joy in Him complete,
Through fleeting gain, His riches shall expand,
An heir to grace where earth and heaven meet.
So here I stand, my treasure found above,
Christ over all, my everlasting love.

Sonnet VII: Against Secularism
The secular bans faith from public square,
“No God in sight,” their cold command decrees,
Yet truth suppressed shall rise through fervent prayer,
For Christ my Lord reigns o’er their stern appease.
They build a wall, “Thy creed must stay confined,”
Their halls a void where sacred echoes fade,
But in my soul, His voice shall not be blind,
A royal call their silence can’t degrade.
The world may hush the gospel’s holy strain,
But I resist, my faith shall not be stilled,
Through muted days, His name shall still remain,
An heir to grace their bounds have never filled.
So here I speak, His word my bold refrain,
Christ over all, no ban shall Him constrain.

Sonnet VIII: Against Relativism
The relativist claims all truths align,
“No right, no wrong,” their fluid chorus flows,
Yet shifting sand shall crumble by design,
For Christ my Truth in steadfast glory grows.
They twist the word, “Each man his own to choose,”
No anchor holds, their doctrine drifts astray,
But God’s own law no mortal can refuse,
A royal rock where lies shall fade away.
The world may drift in doubt’s unmoored embrace,
But I stand firm, His writ my steady guide,
Through vague belief, His light shall hold its place,
An heir to grace where absolutes abide.
So here I root, my faith shall not be tossed,
Christ over all, no truth in Him is lost.

Sonnet IX: Against Atheism
The atheist denies with darkened eye,
“No God exists,” their hollow boast resounds,
Yet skies proclaim what hearts cannot deny,
For Christ my Life in every breath abounds.
They cling to chance, “The world is but a fluke,”
Their void a cage, no purpose to be seen,
But I behold His hand in all I look,
A royal mark where chaos never gleans.
The world may scoff, their faith in nothing sure,
But I affirm, His presence ever near,
Through blind dissent, His truth shall still endure,
An heir to grace beyond their fleeting fear.
So here I stand, my soul in Him awake,
Christ over all, no doubt His reign shall shake.

Sonnet X: Against Liberalism
The liberal cries, “My will shall set me free,”
No law divine, their liberty’s the prize,
Yet unbound choice breeds chaos none foresee,
For Christ my King alone makes mortals wise.
They shun restraint, “Each soul its own to steer,”
Their freedom bends to whims of fleeting day,
But scripture holds a yoke both firm and clear,
A royal path their wandering can’t sway.
The world may cheer this liberty unbound,
But I resist, my heart to Him confined,
Through reckless rights, His truth shall still be found,
An heir to grace where selfish creeds unwind.
So here I stand, His reign my soul’s delight,
Christ over all, His rule my guiding light.

Sonnet XI: Against Satanism
The satanist exalts the shadowed foe,
“To dark we bow,” their chilling anthem rings,
Yet hell’s deceit shall reap what it does sow,
For Christ my Lord o’er every evil springs.
They dance with lies, “The serpent’s path is true,”
Their rites a snare, rebellion’s bitter fruit,
But light prevails, His cross shall pierce it through,
A royal might no demon can dispute.
The world may heed their whisper’s twisted call,
But I renounce, my soul in Him secure,
Through occult veils, His name shall conquer all,
An heir to grace where darkness can’t endure.
So here I rise, His power my refrain,
Christ over all, no evil shall remain.

Sonnet XII: Christ Triumphant
The isms clash, their voices fill the fray,
Yet each shall bow before His sovereign throne,
I lift my praise, no creed can dim His day,
For Christ my King shall reign o’er all alone.
From man’s proud boast to Satan’s dark array,
Their towers fall, by His own might undone,
All worldly dreams in dust shall fade away,
A royal crown where every fight is won.
The world may cling to shadows brief and frail,
But I rejoice, His victory supreme,
Through every ism’s dusk, His light prevail,
An heir to joy in His eternal gleam.
So here I sing, my soul forever free,
Christ over all, my endless jubilee.

The world’s a scroll where verses softly play,
Each dawn a line, His breath in every scene,
My poet’s heart with scripture’s pulse shall sway,
For Christ my theme in all that I’ve foreseen.
The stars align, their rhythm lights my way,
A stanza vast, His word my soul’s serene,
Two threads entwine—my craft, His truth’s array,
A royal weave where faith has ever been.
The brook’s soft song, a quatrain of His grace,
The cross a rhyme that steadies all my days,
Each note I pen, His gospel finds its place,
Through life’s refrain, my spirit lifts in praise.
So all I see in verse shall ever blend,
Christ’s sacred lines my poetry transcend.
