Summary of “Conviction, Repentance, and Resurrection: The Step-by-Step Miracle of Being Born Again in Christ Jesus”

This extended poem chronicles the profound spiritual journey of Christian salvation and rebirth through Jesus Christ, structured as a sequential, step-by-step process rooted in biblical principles. It unfolds in poetic verses, blending imagery of darkness yielding to light, death giving way to life, and human frailty transformed by divine grace.

  • Conviction (Awakening to Sin): The poem begins with a lost soul adrift in worldly emptiness, stirred by the Holy Spirit’s gentle conviction. Like rain on dry ground, guilt pierces the heart, shattering denial and prompting tears of realization—the essential first step of recognizing one’s need for God.
  • Repentance (Turning from Sin): Sorrow leads to humble confession and surrender. The penitent kneels, casting off pride and vices like autumn leaves, creating a contrite heart ready for mercy. This act of turning away from the old life burns away impurities, paving the way for true freedom.
  • Faith and Baptism (Dying and Rising with Christ): Belief in Jesus’ sacrificial death on the cross ignites trust. Baptism symbolizes burial of the old self in water, washing away sins through His blood, followed by emergence as a resurrected being—erased past, no lingering chains.
  • Indwelling of the Holy Spirit (New Birth): The Spirit descends like a dove or flame, filling the soul with power and making the believer a new creation, a child of God. Clothed in righteousness, the inward person is renewed, bearing fruits like love, joy, and peace, guided by Scripture.
  • Discipleship and Growth (Walking in Faith): Daily life involves prayer, worship, fellowship, and service. Armor against temptation—faith’s shield and truth’s sword—fortifies the journey. Trials refine character, community sharpens resolve, and perseverance builds toward maturity, from glory to glory.
  • Perseverance and Culmination (Eternal Resurrection): Amid challenges, hope anchors the soul. The poem crescendos to the final resurrection: a glorified body in heaven, free from pain, united with Christ. The entire process glorifies God, portraying rebirth as a symphony of mercy—from earthly awakening to eternal rest.

Overall, the poem emphasizes themes of grace, redemption, and transformation, portraying being “born again” (John 3:3) not as a single event but a miraculous, progressive miracle enabled solely by Jesus’ love, culminating in everlasting praise. It serves as an inspirational ode to faith’s transformative power, accessible yet deeply theological.

In the shadows of a soul once lost and torn,
A wanderer drifts through valleys dark and worn.
The weight of sin, like chains that bind the heart,
Whispers of despair, pulling worlds apart.
Eyes blind to grace, ears deaf to heaven’s call—
The first step: conviction, the Spirit’s thrall.
A stirring deep, a prick upon the conscience clear,
Awakening the need for something near.

Repentance blooms, a turning from the night,
Confessing wrongs beneath the Savior’s light.
Knees bend low in sorrow’s humble plea,
“Forgive me, Lord, and set my spirit free.”
The old self cracks, like tombs that roll away,
Dying to flesh in waters of the fray.
Buried with Him in baptism’s sacred tide,
The past dissolves where grace and truth abide.

From depths arise, renewed by faith’s embrace,
Believing in the cross, the empty space.
Jesus’ blood, the ransom paid in full,
Washes clean, makes scarlet white as wool.
The Holy Spirit descends like dove’s soft wing,
Filling the void, making dead hearts sing.
A new creation, born of water and the Word,
Alive in Christ, where once the soul was blurred.

Now walk in light, with steps ordained anew,
Fruits of the Spirit in all you say and do.
Love, joy, peace—the armor of the faith,
Guarding the heart from temptation’s wraith.
Fellowship grows in the body of the King,
Worship and service, letting praises ring.
No longer slave, but child of God above,
Eternal life, wrapped in unending love.

At journey’s end, the promise shines so bright,
Transformed forever in His glorious sight.
Born again by Jesus, step by faithful step,
From death to life, in His eternal kept.
The veil is lifted, heaven’s gates ajar—
Redeemed, restored, a shining guiding star.
In Him we rise, reborn and ever free,
Glory to the Lamb for eternity.

The poem, under the jubilant title Jubilant Riches Unveiled: The Holy Scriptures as the True Christian’s Glorious Treasure Trove of Endurance, Encouragement, and Everlasting Hope!, exuberantly portrays the Bible as an incomparable heavenly treasure chest overflowing with spiritual riches exclusively for true believers in Christ.

It opens by likening Scripture to a divine vault of gold and jewels, evoking praise and joy (“Hallelujah!”) as it references Romans 15:4, emphasizing how ancient writings were penned to instruct and liberate souls.

The core stanzas celebrate three key gems:

  • Endurance as resilient diamonds and rubies, strengthened through trials.
  • Encouragement as flowing pearls and comforting whispers from Psalms and prophets, uplifting the weary.
  • Hope as a vast sapphire sea of eternal promise, far surpassing earthly wealth.

The poem culminates in a triumphant call to rejoice, dive into this opulent inheritance, and unite in song, affirming the Word’s living power as the ultimate crown of gold in Christ’s name—igniting jubilant faith and bold testimony for every disciple. Overall, it’s a rapturous ode to Scripture’s transformative bounty, blending biblical truth with vivid imagery of victory and delight.

In vaults of heaven, etched in gold divine,
The Scriptures gleam, a treasure pure and fine—
For every true disciple of the King,
A chest of jewels that makes the spirit sing!

Hallelujah! Burst forth in joyful praise,
These ancient words ignite eternal blaze:
“For all was written,” Romans cries with glee,
To teach our souls, set captive hearts free!

Endurance blooms like diamonds in the mine,
Forged in the fire of trials that refine;
Through storms and shadows, patience stands tall,
A ruby fortress, unyielding to the squall.

Encouragement cascades like rivers of pearl,
Comforting whispers in a weary world—
Psalms of triumph, prophets’ victorious call,
Lifting the fallen, enriching one and all!

And oh, the hope! A sapphire sea so vast,
Everlasting promise, holding steadfast;
No earthly riches compare to this delight,
The Bible’s bounty, our beacon in the night.

Rejoice, true Christian, in this opulent store,
Wealth beyond measure, forevermore—
Scripture’s embrace, our crown of living gold,
In Christ’s great name, our stories boldly told!

Dive deep, dear seeker, claim your royal share,
In every verse, God’s riches beyond compare;
Jubilant hearts unite in rapturous song,
The Word alive—our treasure, ever strong!

The sonnet, inspired by Psalm 7:9, celebrates the triumph of the righteous over the wicked. It portrays God’s justice as all-seeing, testing hearts and minds, ensuring the downfall of evil and the establishment of the just. The poem exudes confidence in divine righteousness, depicting the wicked’s schemes as fleeting and the pure as enduring under God’s unwavering judgment. It concludes with a victorious call to the faithful to rejoice in God’s eternal justice.

Psalm 7:9 (KJV)
Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins.

The wicked’s reign shall crumble, swift to dust,
Their schemes dissolve beneath God’s piercing gaze.
The righteous heart, in truth and honor thrust,
Shall rise, established firm through endless days.
No shadow hides from Him who tries the soul,
His justice weighs each thought, each secret aim.
The pure in heart ascend, their spirits whole,
While evil falters, consumed by its own flame.
Rejoice, ye just, for God your cause defends,
His righteous verdict echoes through the skies.
The reins of truth He holds, and never bends,
In Him, the faithful find their victory’s prize.
So sing, O saints, of triumph pure and bright,
God’s justice reigns, eternal, strong, and right.

The vision of a Heavenly Newspaper, titled The Heavenly Herald (or alternatives like The Eternal Chronicle or The Glory Gazette), imagines a divine publication that proclaims the triumphs of faith, redemption, and God’s glory in Heaven. Unlike earthly newspapers focused on fleeting events, this celestial journal celebrates eternal victories—souls saved, gospel shared, and Christ exalted—with a joyful, worshipful tone.

In the halls of glory, where anthems rise,
Headlines of Heaven light up the skies.
No earthly press could hold such delight,
As souls are transformed in the Savior’s light.

“Lost Sheep Found!” the angels sing,
Safe in the arms of the Shepherd King.
A wanderer once, now home to stay,
Guided by grace to the narrow way.

“New Name Written!” the heavens declare,
Etched in the Book, forever to share.
The Lamb’s own hand records the story,
A soul redeemed for eternal glory.

“Living Water Shared!” the tidings ring,
A faithful heart lets the gospel spring.
A thirsty soul drinks deep and is whole,
Christ’s truth now reigns in a newborn soul.

“Prodigal Returns!” the courts resound,
A Father’s love in mercy found.
The banquet’s set, the angels feast,
For one who was lost, now Heaven’s guest.

“Courageous Heart Stands!” the headline cries,
Unashamed of Christ, where truth never dies.
A voice like fire, a beacon bright,
Proclaiming the cross through the darkest night.

“Forgiven Sinner Reigns!” the banners soar,
An heir of glory, a rebel no more.
From ashes to crowns, by grace restored,
A child of the King, forever adored.

“Angels Rejoice!” the chorus swells,
A soul says “Yes!” where salvation dwells.
One heart turns, and Heaven’s ablaze,
With songs of redemption, unending praise.

“Light Pierces Dark!” the news unfolds,
A gospel seed in fertile soil holds.
A witness bold, a heart sincere,
Plants hope where Heaven’s harvest is near.

“Broken Chains!” the headline beams,
A soul set free to live God’s dreams.
No shackles bind, no fear remains,
In Christ’s embrace, the heart sustains.

“Humble Prayer Moves!” the final cry,
A whispered faith that storms the sky.
Miracles fall, as Heaven responds,
God’s power unleashed through eternal bonds.

From throne to throne, these stories fly,
Heaven’s headlines never dim or die.
Each soul, each step, a victory won,
For the King of kings, the Risen Son.

The sonnet, titled “The Inerrant Word of the Triune God, Surpassing Silver and Gold, Revealing Salvation and Royal Heirship to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords,” celebrates the Bible as the infallible, divinely inspired voice of the Triune God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). It portrays Scripture as a treasure greater than silver or gold, radiating divine truth and beauty. The poem highlights the Father’s sovereign proclamation, the Son’s redemptive sacrifice, and the Spirit’s life-giving presence, which together guide humanity to salvation. Through its pages, the Bible reveals the path to being born again, freeing souls from death, and adopting believers as royal sons and daughters of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The sonnet concludes by affirming the eternal, unerring authority of God’s Word as a guide to grace and everlasting praise.

O Triune God, Your Word in splendor gleams,
Its sacred scroll holds wealth beyond compare.
More treasure than all silver, gold’s bright dreams,
Its pages shine with truth divinely fair.

The Father’s voice, a thunder clad in light,
Proclaims the path to be born once again.
The Son’s great love, through sacrifice made right,
Redeems the soul from death’s eternal chain.

The Spirit breathes where holy writ unfolds,
To save and crown us heirs of heaven’s throne.
As royal sons and daughters, we behold
The King of Kings, the Lord of Lords alone.

This Word, unerring, reigns through endless days,
Our guide to grace, our everlasting praise.

Contending for the Cross, Part II: A Sonnet on Charlie Kirk’s Bold Stand and Our Call to Faith by Debbie Harris

Like Joseph, pure, temptation’s lure he spurned,
His righteous heart for God’s own truth did burn.
Like Daniel, bold, through lions’ den he turned,
To kneel in faith, no fear could overturn.
Old Noah built, though scoffers mocked his aim,
Obeyed through floods, God’s holy will his flame.
Saint Stephen, stoned, yet love’s sweet grace proclaimed,
Forgave with breath that glorified God’s name.
Disciples bold, through pain, Christ’s truth they bore,
Like Charlie Kirk, who faced the hateful roar—
For Savior stood, no matter cost or thorn.
Do I, like them, with zeal God’s truth adorn?
In love and truth, do I His cross embrace—
Am I a bold and loving contender for the faith?

Shadows of the Steeple: Metrics Over Mercy by Debbie Harris

(A lament in verse, echoing timeless tensions in the faith: where cultural allure and quantifiable “success” eclipse the unadorned power of the Gospel’s promise—that Jesus saves the lost, not the trending. Inspired by reflections on church resilience amid relevance’s pull.

In the hallowed halls where echoes once rang true,
The Precious Church of Jesus Christ now hums
With algorithms of approval, screens aglow—
Metrics marching like a metronome of might,
Where “likes” ascend like incense to the cloud,
And relevance reigns, a scepter sharp and bright.
Culture’s chorus swells in viral verse and verse,
A symphony of scrolls that scroll the soul away,
While the Gospel whispers, faint as fading hearse:
“I am the way, the truth, the life,” He says,
Yet drowned in data streams and trending praise.

Oh, seeker of the saved, the Lamb who left the ninety-nine,
Who dined with debtors, healed the halt and blind—
Has your light grown dim in this electric shrine?
The numbers climb: attendance apps that tally throngs,
Engagement engines fueled by fleeting fire,
Hashtags of heaven, but hearts adrift in wrongs.
Culture courts the crowd with coffee bars and bands,
Relevance robes the ragged in designer grace,
While Jesus stands at the door, nail-scarred hands,
Knocking not for nods, but for a contrite face.
“For God so loved the world,” the ancient cry,
That whosoever believes might never die—
But now ’tis whosoever shares, reposts, complies.

Precious Church, your altars altared to the age,
Where faithfulness fades for followers’ fleeting gaze,
The Savior’s story sidelined on salvation’s stage.
Culture’s crown is heavy, relevance a rusted chain,
Binding bold belief to bland conformity’s bane.
Yet in the quiet quake of Calvary’s refrain,
The Gospel gleams: not in grandeur’s grand design,
But in the grace that grips the guilty, makes them thine.
Return, O bride, to the blood that bought the broken whole;
Let metrics melt like morning mist, and mercy take control.
For Jesus saves—not by the scroll of social score,
But by the cross that counts the cost, and opens heaven’s door.

Defiant Praise in the Face of Demonic Fury: Living Boldly and Unashamed for Jesus Christ, Our Victorious King by Debbie Harris

Summary of the Poem: Defiant Praise in the Face of Demonic Fury: Living Boldly and Unashamed for Jesus Christ, Our Victorious King

This fervent poem is a bold declaration of unwavering Christian devotion, structured as a rhythmic battle cry that escalates in intensity across four stanzas. It confronts spiritual and worldly opposition head-on, affirming that no amount of demonic malice, human enmity, or global hatred can deter the believer from worshiping, praising, living for, and proclaiming Jesus Christ as King. The core message pulses with themes of defiant faith, joyful resilience, and evangelistic zeal—echoing the early church’s unyielding testimony amid persecution. At its heart, the poem celebrates the “free gift of salvation” as the ultimate triumph, refusing shame and embracing proclamation as a lifelong vow.

Key Themes and Structure

  • Stanza 1: Demonic Opposition Met with Worship
“Let the demons hiss—we will worship / Jesus Christ our King!”
The poem opens with a visceral image of infernal threats, countered by immediate, unapologetic adoration. This sets a tone of spiritual warfare, where evil’s whispers only fuel sacred response.
  • Stanza 2: Human Enemies’ Assault Ignored
“Let our enemies howl, disagree, name-call— / we will worship / And praise and live for / Jesus Christ our King!”
Here, earthly foes—through discord, insults, and division—are dismissed, as the believer commits not just to momentary praise but to a holistic life of allegiance.
  • Stanza 3: World’s Cruel Hatred Overcome
“Let the world hate cruelly— / we will worship, praise and live / for Jesus Christ our King!”
The scope widens to systemic global animosity, yet the refrain intensifies: worship evolves into a full-spectrum devotion (worship + praise + living), unbreakable under pressure.
  • Stanza 4: Eternal Proclamation Without Shame
“Come what may, / we will never be ashamed / and will always proclaim / the free gift of salvation / of Jesus Christ our King!”
The climax seals an irrevocable promise—facing any trial (“come what may”), the poet vows shameless evangelism, spotlighting salvation’s grace as the gospel’s free, transformative gift.

Overall, the poem’s repetition of the italicized refrain creates a liturgical chant, transforming personal resolve into communal anthem. Its raw energy evokes the martyrs’ hymns, urging readers to stand firm in a hostile culture, much like the Apostle Paul’s prison epistles or the persecuted believers in Hebrews.

Integrated Biblical Verses and References

The poem’s fiery resolve draws deeply from Scripture, weaving threads of fearlessness, worship amid trials, and bold gospel-sharing. Below, I pair key lines with resonant verses (quoted from the NIV for clarity), showing how they amplify the poem’s message:

  • On Defiant Worship Despite Demonic and Enemy Threats (Stanzas 1–2):
The hisses and howls mirror the “roaring lion” of Satan in 1 Peter 5:8-9: “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith…” Just as the poem declares worship in response, Psalm 27:1 proclaims, “The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?” This echoes the unshakeable praise that silences opposition.
  • On Enduring the World’s Hatred (Stanza 3):
The “world hate cruelly” line channels Jesus’ warning in John 15:18-19: “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.” Yet, the poem’s counter—persistent worship and living for Christ—aligns with Acts 5:29, where Peter and the apostles reply to persecution: “We must obey God rather than human beings!” This underscores devotion as obedience over conformity.
  • On Never Being Ashamed and Proclaiming Salvation (Stanza 4):
The vow “we will never be ashamed” is a direct echo of Paul’s iconic stand in Romans 1:16: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.” This verse, the thematic heartbeat of Romans, celebrates the gospel’s power—precisely the “free gift” the poem proclaims. It ties to 2 Timothy 1:8: “So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner. Rather, join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God.” Finally, the victory motif resonates with Revelation 12:11: “They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death,” portraying proclamation as the believer’s conquering weapon.

These references aren’t mere parallels; they root the poem in the biblical narrative of saints who worshiped through flames, chains, and exile—reminding us that such defiance isn’t human grit but divine empowerment. In today’s storms (like the recent tragedy of Charlie Kirk’s martyrdom), this poem and its scriptural anchors call us to the same: unashamed, undeterred praise for the King who turns hisses into hymns. If you’d like a deeper dive into any verse or an expanded analysis, just say!

Let the demons hiss—we will worship
Jesus Christ our King!

Let our enemies howl, disagree, name-call—
we will worship
And praise and live for
Jesus Christ our King!

Let the world hate cruelly—
we will worship, praise and live
for Jesus Christ our King!

Come what may,
we will never be ashamed
and will always proclaim
the free gift of salvation
of Jesus Christ our King!

The poem draws from 2 Corinthians 4:18, emphasizing a Christ-centered focus on eternal realities over fleeting earthly things. It portrays the world’s temporary allure as fragile and fading, contrasting it with the enduring, unseen glory of Jesus Christ. Through vivid imagery, the poem highlights Christ’s eternal kingdom, His sacrificial love, and His unchanging presence as the anchor of faith. It invites believers to fix their gaze on Jesus, the crucified and risen Savior, whose grace and truth shine beyond the temporal veil, offering hope and eternal life.

Beyond the veil of earthly sight,
Where fleeting shadows dim the light,
We fix our gaze on Christ alone,
The King eternal, God’s own Son.

The world’s frail charms, though bright they seem,
Are but a breath, a passing dream.
Its treasures fade, its glories cease,
But Christ endures, our Prince of Peace.

Unseen, yet real, His kingdom stands,
Its truth upheld by nail-scarred hands.
His love, a fire that never wanes,
Outshines the stars, forever reigns.

In Him, the unseen becomes our home,
Through faith we see where angels roam.
No temporal veil can hide His face,
His cross our anchor, His heart our place.

O Christ, our hope, exquisite, true,
Your boundless grace comes shining through.
Eternal Lord, our eyes abide,
On You, the Life, the Crucified.
