In Awe Of Our Triune God by Debbie Harris

The poem, titled “In Awe of the Triune God,” expresses profound reverence and gratitude for the Triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It begins with the speaker kneeling in “holy adoring grateful awe” upon truly knowing God. Each Person of the Trinity is celebrated in a dedicated stanza: the Father as the loving Creator, the Son as the redeeming Savior, and the Spirit as the guiding fire. The poem concludes by exalting the unified majesty of the Triune God, leaving the speaker humbled and enraptured in eternal worship. The five stanzas use vivid imagery and a rhythmic structure to convey spiritual intimacy and divine wonder.

When one truly knows our precious Triune God,
Heart unveiled, soul laid bare to His light,
All one can do is kneel in holy awe,
Adoring, grateful, lost in sacred sight.

Father’s love, eternal, boundless, deep,
Creator’s hand that shaped the stars above,
His mercy flows where broken hearts do weep,
A tender call, a whisper of His love.

Son of glory, Savior, Lamb divine,
Who walked the earth to bear our sin and shame,
His cross a bridge where grace and truth align,
We bow, redeemed, and magnify His name.

Spirit, holy fire, our guide, our breath,
Who stirs the soul with whispers soft and sure,
He leads us through the shadows of our death,
To dwell in God, forevermore secure.

O Triune God, in unity sublime,
Your mystery humbles every fleeting thought,
We kneel, enraptured, till the end of time,
In grateful awe of all Your hands have wrought.

The poem, titled The Eternal Embrace of Divine Approval Is Always Enough, is a concise four-line piece that reflects the sentiment “God’s approval is always enough.” It conveys a deep spiritual truth: God’s love and affirmation surpass all earthly validation. The poem uses gentle imagery, likening divine approval to “morning dew” and “heaven to earth,” emphasizing its quiet yet profound power. It highlights the sufficiency of God’s nod, offering peace and worth beyond human praise.

In whispers soft as morning dew,
God’s love descends, steadfast and true.
No earthly praise can match its worth,
His nod alone brings heaven to earth.

1 Corinthians 15:57 – But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 8:37 – Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

Though nations fall from

Satan’s heinous schemes.,

those who are royally

redeemed, will rise in

triumph and victory through

the power of our Lord Jesus

Christ who is and always will

be the one and only King of

Kings and Lord of Lords!

Even if the world falls into

peril and chaos because of

Satan’s heinous and diabolical

schemes, those who are royally

redeemed will rise in triumph

and victory through the power

of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is

and always will be the one and

only King of Kings and Lord of Lords!

No matter what scenario, no

matter what happens in this

sin-filled world, those who

are royally redeemed stand

in divine and Holy victory

because of Jesus Christ, our

Lord! So rejoice, royal beloved

conquerors, for no matter what

happens we will rise in Holy

Christ-procured royal victory!

Sonnet On Psalm 90: 1-2 by Debbie Harris

The sonnet, inspired by Psalm 90:1-2 (KJV), reflects on God’s eternal nature and role as humanity’s enduring refuge. It emphasizes His timeless existence—unchanging from before creation through all generations—and contrasts this with the fleeting nature of human life. The poem portrays God as a steadfast, boundless shelter, offering comfort and security, and concludes with praise for His everlasting love and glory.

Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. (Psalm 90:1-2, KJV)

O Lord, our refuge through the ages long,
Before the hills were born or seas were spread,
Your timeless might, eternal, firm, and strong,
Sustains the heavens where no mortals tread.
From everlasting, You alone endure,
No dawn can mark Your start, no night Your end,
Your holy presence, boundless, ever sure,
Our constant home, on whom we still depend.
While fleeting years like morning mists depart,
Your changeless glory holds us in its care,
A steadfast shelter for the trembling heart,
Your love eternal answers every prayer.
O God, our dwelling, evermore the same,
We sing Your praise and glorify Your name.

A Poetic Study: If My People by Debbie Harris

The poem, inspired by 2 Chronicles 7:14, is a lyrical call to God’s people to seek divine forgiveness and healing for their land. It outlines four conditions: humility, fervent prayer, seeking God’s face, and repentance from sin. If these are met, God promises to hear, forgive, and restore, healing their fractured nation. Vivid imagery—humility as a river, prayer as a soul’s ascent, mercy as a sovereign hand—underscores the spiritual journey. The poem universalizes the call, urging all to embrace these steps for enduring divine love and renewal.

Beneath the weight of heaven’s gaze,
A whisper threads through ancient days:
“My people, called, my name they bear,
A covenant woven, a bond so rare.”

If they, the chosen, bend their pride,
Let humility’s river flow deep, flow wide,
No throne of self, no crown of clay,
But hearts laid bare in the light of day.

If they pray, a cry from dust to sky,
A soul’s ascent where angels fly,
Not rote, not ritual, but fervent plea,
A hunger for God, for eternity.

If they seek my face, not fleeting signs,
Not wealth, not power, not earthly designs,
But the radiance of love, unmarred, divine,
The glow of holiness, forever thine!

If they turn, oh, turn from shadowed ways,
From sin’s allure, its fleeting blaze,
To rend the heart, to break the chain,
To walk the path through cleansing rain.

Then I—Almighty, enthroned above—
Will hear their cries with a Father’s love.
From heaven’s courts, my grace will pour,
Forgiveness granted, their souls restored.

And I will heal their fractured land,
With mercy’s touch, with a sovereign hand.
The fields will sing, the rivers run,
A nation reborn beneath the sun.

Yet still the call resounds, unbroken,
To every heart where truth is spoken.
If my people—yes, you and I—
Will kneel, will seek, will turn, will cry,
The promise holds, eternal, sure,
God’s healing love will still endure.

The sonnet declares Jesus Christ as the sole head of the Church, emphasizing His supreme authority and rejecting any human claim to that role. It cites scriptural support from Ephesians and Colossians, portraying Christ as the eternal guide and Lord of the Church, His “bride.” The poem underscores that only Christ’s divine power and Spirit lead the faithful, with His Word as their light, culminating in praise for His everlasting, pure leadership.

O Christ, the King, the Head of Church alone,
Thy sovereign grace commands the faithful throng.
No mortal crown can claim Thy sacred throne,
For Thou art Lord, to Thee all hearts belong.
In scripture’s truth, Thy role is brightly shown,
Ephesians calls Thee Head, the Body’s guide.
Colossians hails Thy name, no rival known,
The Church Thy bride, with Thee forever tied.
No human hand can wield Thy holy might,
No earthly voice Thy perfect will decree.
Thy Spirit leads through darkness into light,
Thy Word the lamp that sets the captive free.
All praise to Thee, our Savior, ever near,
The Church’s Head, eternal, pure, and clear.

Sonnet On Isaiah 64:8 by Debbie Harris

The sonnet inspired by Isaiah 64:8 portrays God as a sovereign and triumphant Potter, majestically shaping humanity, His clay, into a glorious masterpiece. With a royal tone, it celebrates God’s divine authority and creative power, emphasizing His ability to mold souls through trials into radiant reflections of His will. The 14-line Shakespearean sonnet uses iambic pentameter and an ABAB CDCD EFEF GG rhyme scheme to convey humanity’s exalted role as God’s victorious creation, destined to shine under His eternal reign.

O Sovereign Lord, our Father, King supreme,
Your mighty hands as Potter shape the clay!
From formless dust, You weave a royal dream,
And crown Your work with light of endless day.

Your throne commands the stars, yet You descend,
To mold our souls with artistry divine.
Each stroke proclaims Your glory without end,
Your sacred seal on hearts that brightly shine.

No flaw can dim the splendor You decree,
Your boundless power bids the broken rise.
Through trials fierce, Your will shall ever be,
To forge in us a triumph in the skies.

Great Potter, King, Your hands our fate have won,
We reign as Yours, Your masterpiece begun!
