Beyond The Sacred Line by Debbie Harris

To turn from truth the heart sets out its claim,
A willful step beyond the sacred line,
Where Scripture’s voice, though clear, they deem too fine,
And cast aside its wisdom for their aim.
The soul, unyoked, pursues a fleeting flame,
Its pride a torch to burn what once held sign,
Rejecting law where love and light align,
To chase a shadow clad in freedom’s name.
Yet still the page endures, its ink unbowed,
A call to turn from paths that twist and rend;
For though the will may spurn what God has sown,
His mercy waits where rebels once avowed.
Thus rebels choose: to fall or to repent,
Defy His grace or seek the soul’s ascent.

The Parallel of Carrying a Man to Bethesda and a Soul to the Throne of Divine Mercy by Debbie Harris

Upon the pool’s still edge he lay in wait,
His friends with tender care bore up his frame,
Through years of dust and sorrow’s heavy claim,
To seek the waters stirred by healing touch.
So too in prayer we lift a soul’s estate,
A burdened heart we bear to mercy’s flame,
Where grace, unseen, may whisper soft its name,
And God’s own hand redeems what time berate.
By Bethesda’s side, the Savior’s voice awoke,
A broken form made whole in sudden gleam;
In supplication’s hush, we plead no less,
That love divine might rend the spirit’s yoke.
Thus friends and prayers align in one great theme:
To carry need to power that can bless.

In Jesus Christ Alone, We Rise by Debbie Harris

In mirrored halls, we chase a fragile gleam,
A shadowed self, esteem we build with care,
Yet sands of pride dissolve beneath the stream,
A mirage born of dust, a hollow stare.
The world exalts the ego’s brittle throne,
A crown of glass, by fleeting praise adorned,
But winds of doubt soon shatter what’s our own,
And leave the soul in silence, lost, forlorn.

Yet Christ extends a gaze that never fades,
A worth unearned, by grace divinely sown,
No shifting tides, no crumbling masquerades,
His love alone can call the heart His own.
Through Him, we stand, no need to prove or strive,
In boundless esteem, we’re fully made alive.

To George Herbert by Debbie Harris

To George Herbert
Thy quill, a quiet flame, did pierce the air,
With words that bend the heart to holy awe,
A priestly poet, clad in humble prayer,
Who saw in dust the gleam of heaven’s law.
Thy lines, like incense, rise to God’s high throne,
Each stanza wrought with grace’s tender strain,
A temple built of verse, Thy love alone,
Where broken souls find balm for every pain.
The Word was thy true sword, thy muse’s guide,
To carve a path through sin’s entangling mire,
With faith thou didst in simple rhymes abide,
And bid us see the stars through earthly fire.
O Herbert, bard of Christ’s sweet yoke, we sing,
Thy praise, a bell that through the ages rings.

The Sword Of Scripture by Debbie Harris

When grace is scorned, the Word of God we take,
No gentle peace, but truth’s own sharpened blade,
A biblical stand against the dark we make,
To pierce the lies where evil’s roots are laid.
This sword, God’s voice, ignites the soul to rise,
When sin’s black veil would choke the light away,
With Scripture’s edge, we meet the serpent’s eyes,
Its holy writ our strength in fierce array.
Yet still we grieve the grace so lightly tossed,
The mercy spurned by hearts too proud to bend,
For though the Word cuts deep what sin has cost,
Love’s balm could heal where judgment seeks to rend.
So armed with God’s own sword, we stand as one,
Yet pray for grace when righteous wrath is done.

Truth, Hope, Love, Grace Sown by Debbie Harris

The holy truth the Bible’s voice proclaims,
A hope to gleam through every shadowed vale,
Resounds in Christ, the Light of all our names,
Whose radiance rends the dark, shall never fail.
To all we meet, the Light of the World we bring,
A flame of grace no sin can overthrow,
A love that flows from mercy’s endless spring,
To melt the ice where hardened hearts may grow.
This truth, God-breathed, a lantern pure and bright,
Illumes the path where wand’ring feet may roam,
Bestows on us the undeserved delight,
Of grace that guides the weary sinner home.
So with His word, we shine as He has shown,
The Light of Life, through us, to all made known.

A day from Christ, with glory crowned,
A charge to wield His victor’s might,
To storm the dark, His will unbound,
And raise His banner, bold and bright.

Lament For The Bibas Family by Debbie Harris

In dawn’s cruel breach, where innocence once played,
A mother’s arms, two tender souls, were torn,
From Nir Oz stolen, shadows cast their blade,
To captive depths, where hope was left forlorn.
The hands of hate, with ruthless grasp, did bind,
A family’s thread through terror’s darkened veil,
No mercy spared, no peace for hearts to find,
In silence broke a world too vast to wail.
Three lives extinguished, innocence betrayed,
By brutal will, not war’s unseeing flame,
A mother’s love, two boys in youth arrayed,
Entombed as one, forever bear their name.
Yet grief ignites a cry that pierces night,
For justice burns where darkness dares its flight.

Sonnet Of Faith’s Triumph Gaze Hebrews 11:1 by Debbie Harris

Sonnet of Faith’s Triumph
Faith is the flame that storms the heart’s high throne,
A glorious surge of hopes too vast to tame,
Its golden pulse through every age has shone,
The proof of joys no shadow dares to claim.
No veil can dim its bold, exultant fire,
It carves a path where mortal sight would fade,
A scepter raised o’er doubt’s defeated spire,
A song of conquest time cannot unbraid.
Through tempests fierce, faith lifts its victor’s cry,
A beacon crowned with heaven’s boundless gleam,
Its roots unshakeable where fears all die,
A tide of glory sweeping every dream.
Triumphant ever, faith in Christ ascends,
The radiant dawn that never bows nor bends.

Jesus, victor of my soul,
Starts my race with joy untold,
Cross upheld, His triumph reigns,
Writes my freedom, crowns my gains.
Eyes on Him, through life I rise,
Faith’s great Author, crowned in skies.
