The Enemy’s Hate Against the Jewish People, God’s Tears, and the Son’s Triumphant Return by Debbie Harris

The sonnet portrays the rising hatred against the Jewish people, described as God’s chosen and beloved, as a fulfillment of prophecy. It highlights God’s sorrow over their suffering and urges believers to share in this grief. Despite the enemy’s persistent rage across history, the poem traces a path to redemption through the Jewish lineage of Christ, the Son, who will return in glory to defeat sin and heal the world. The faithful are encouraged to look up in hope, as darkness cannot overcome the light of the Savior’s triumphant return and redeeming power.

When hatred swells against the chosen race,
The precious ones, the apple of His eye,
God weeps to see such cruelty’s harsh embrace,
And we, His flock, should mourn as tears run dry.
Through ages past, the enemy has raged,
Against the Jews, our Lord’s own sacred kin,
Yet in their pain, redemption’s path is traced,
The Son arises, vanquishing all sin.
Look up, ye faithful, lift your weary gaze,
Our hope draws nigh, the clouds shall soon unwind,
A King returns in glory’s radiant blaze,
To heal the world, the lost, the broken, blind.
Though darkness hates what light has long foretold,
His Savior’s heart redeems us, pure and bold.

Anathema Pronounced Upon the Wayward Sanctuary Forsaking Scriptures by Debbie Harris

A house of stone once raised to praise His name,
Now stands accursed, a hollow, empty shell,
Its altars cold, its doctrines turned to shame,
Anathema, God’s voice doth sternly tell.
The scriptures lie, unopened, gathering dust,
Christ’s teachings scorned for fables wrought by men,
The flock misled, their faith betrayed to rust,
A sanctuary lost to prideful sin.
No light of grace illumes its darkened pews,
No truth resounds where once the Word held sway,
The cross defiled by those who would refuse,
To bow before the King in humble way.
Yet still God calls, though walls reject His plea,
“Return, or fall—forsaken thus by Me.”

The poem, titled “Even as Corruption Festers, We Live for Your Any-Moment Return,” is a brief, spirited cry rooted in steadfast belief. Addressed to “O Lord,” it confronts the corruption troubling a nation, yet draws unshakable strength from the hope of an imminent divine arrival. The speaker emphasizes how this expectation—”that you could come any day”—drives them forward through their concern. The final line, “You are our hope,” surges as an exuberant shout of faith, an unwavering crescendo proclaiming the Lord as the triumphant source of their enduring trust.

O Lord,
Even in the midst
Of our nation’s corruption,
What keeps us going
Is that you could come
Any day.
You are our hope.

Title: “A Sonnet of Spring’s Awakening, Where the Eternal King Weaves Wonders in His Royal Heirs for Mighty Exploits”

This sonnet celebrates the transformative power of God, depicted as an eternal King who ushers in a spiritual spring, renewing the soul with vibrant imagery of blooming flowers (lilacs, daffodils, jasmine, roses, tulips) and flowing rivers. It portrays God’s royal authority awakening wonders within the speaker and His people, who, as royal heirs, rise to perform mighty deeds. The poem intertwines natural rebirth with divine empowerment, culminating in a triumphant declaration of God’s reign soaring through His chosen ones.

Bible References

  1. Daniel 11:32 – “But the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.”
  • This verse directly inspires the theme of “mighty exploits” performed by those who know God, reflected in the second quatrain where the heirs “ascend” and their deeds “bloom like roses.”
  1. Psalm 104:30 – “When You send forth Your Spirit, they are created; and You renew the face of the earth.”
  • The imagery of spring’s renewal and God’s breath unfurling life (e.g., “Your royal breath unfurls a jasmine sea”) echoes this idea of divine creation and rejuvenation.
  1. Revelation 1:6 – “And has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”
  • The concept of believers as “royal heirs” with regal might ties to this passage, emphasizing our shared royalty with Christ, as seen in the poem’s focus on being “robed in You” and crowned by God.
  1. Isaiah 43:19 – “Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
  • The line “a river leaps from stone, a living spring” reflects this promise of new beginnings and miraculous transformation, paralleling spring’s awakening in the sonnet.
  1. Psalm 45:1-2 – “My heart is overflowing with a good theme; I recite my composition concerning the King… You are fairer than the sons of men; grace is poured upon Your lips.”
  • The sonnet’s praise of the “eternal Sire” and the fragrant, regal imagery (e.g., “purple sceptres high”) resonate with this poetic exultation of the King’s beauty and authority.

A throne of spring ascends o’er shattered frost,
Where lilacs blaze with purple sceptres high,
In me, O King, weave wonders none exhaust,
My spirit crowned beneath Your fragrant sky.

Through golden tides of daffodils that bend,
Your royal breath unfurls a jasmine sea,
We, robed in You, with regal might ascend,
Our exploits bloom like roses, wild and free.

The tulip fields bow low to Your command,
A kingdom’s pulse where petals softly sing,
In us, Your heirs, Your sovereign hand expands,
A river leaps from stone, a living spring.

Lord, fuse my heart to Yours, eternal Sire,
Through us, Your royal heirs, Your reign shall soar.

Sonnet: Triumph Of The Lord’s Unfailing Love by Debbie Harris

This triumphant Shakespearean sonnet, inspired by Lamentations 3:22-23 (KJV) — “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness” — exults in God’s victorious mercy and unwavering faithfulness. It portrays His love as a powerful force that lifts us from despair, banishing darkness with each new dawn. The poem celebrates how His compassion triumphs over trials, heralding a glorious redemption that resonates through every heart. With a tone of joyous victory, it concludes by calling all to proclaim His great faithfulness as our eternal rest.

The Lord’s great mercies lift us from the flame,
We are not lost, nor swallowed by the night,
His compassions, boundless, stake their claim,
A dawn of grace that banishes all fright.

Each morn they rise, anew, in glorious might,
A victor’s song o’er sorrow’s fleeting reign,
No storm can dim His love’s resplendent light,
For faithfulness, our banner, shall remain.

Through trials fierce, His mercy stands supreme,
A trumpet blast to herald endless day,
Our hearts rejoice, redeemed by heaven’s gleam,
In every breath, His triumph leads the way.

So raise the cry, let every voice attest,
Great is His faith, our everlasting rest!

The Lord’s Prayer Sung in Quatrains to the King of Eternal Glory by Debbie Harris

Here’s a poem structured as a series of quatrains, each corresponding to a phrase from the Lord’s Prayer (based on the traditional version from Matthew 6:9-13 in the Christian Bible: “Our Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven, Give us this day our daily bread, And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive them that trespass against us, And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil”). I’ll assume the concluding doxology (“For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever and ever”) is included, as it’s often part of liturgical use. Each quatrain reflects on its respective phrase with a consistent rhyme scheme (ABAB) for unity.

Our Father, which art in heaven,

Above the earth, enthroned in light,
Thy love descends to hearts bereaven,
A Father’s care through endless night.

Hallowed be thy Name,

Thy title echoes, pure and grand,
No tongue can sully sacred fame,
Revered by souls in every land.

Thy kingdom come,

We plead for peace, thy reign to see,
A world where strife at last is numb,
And all bow down in unity.

Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven,

Thy purpose bends both time and space,
On soil and sky thy law is given,
To mirror heaven’s holy grace.

Give us this day our daily bread,

Each morn thy bounty freely flows,
By thee our hungry souls are fed,
Sustained through all life’s joys and woes.

And forgive us our trespasses,

Our sins, like chains, we cast to thee,
Thy mercy heals where guilt amasses,
And sets the burdened spirit free.

As we forgive them that trespass against us,

As thou dost pardon, so must we,
Release the debts that once oppress us,
In love’s forgiving liberty.

And lead us not into temptation,

Guard us from paths where shadows lure,
Thy hand prevents our soul’s frustration,
And keeps our wandering steps secure.

But deliver us from evil,

From darkness deep, thy power saves,
Against the foe, thy strength is civil,
Redeeming us from sin’s dark waves.

For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory,

All realms, all might, all praise is thine,
Eternal song of sacred story,
Forever shines thy reign divine.

Forever and ever,

Beyond the stars, thy will holds sway,
Time’s end shall bind thee never,
Eternal Lord of endless day.

A Majestic Sonnet Declaring That a Nation Shall Rise in Greatness by Exalting Jesus Christ, Following the Holy Bible, and Embracing His Most Holy Ways by Debbie Harris

The poem, presented as A Majestic Sonnet Declaring That a Nation Shall Rise in Greatness by Exalting Jesus Christ, Following the Holy Bible, and Embracing His Most Holy Ways, is a poetic call for a nation to achieve greatness through faith. It portrays a people bowing to God’s command (Psalm 95:6, “Come, let us bow down in worship”), blessed as a land where He reigns as King (Psalm 33:12, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord”). The Bible is their shield (Ephesians 6:16, “the shield of faith”), guiding them through trials to a promised home (John 14:2-3, Christ preparing a place). God’s glory envelops them (Exodus 24:17, His glory as a consuming fire), and their greatness dawns by exalting Jesus Christ (Philippians 2:9-11, every knee bowing to His name) and living His holy ways (1 Peter 1:15, “Be holy, for I am holy”). It’s a fearless anthem of praise, rooted in scripture, for a righteous nation.

A nation bows beneath the Lord’s command,
For blessed is the land where He is King,
His chosen flock, upheld by sovereign hand,
In psalms of grace, their fervent voices ring.
Through trials fierce, we cling to faith unbowed,
The Bible’s word, our shield against the fray,
No storm can break the promise He avowed,
To guide us home along the narrow way.
“Blessed is the nation,” scripture cries aloud,
Whose God is Lord, whose heart in trust abides,
From sea to sea, His glory shall enshroud,
A people free, where righteousness resides.
So fearless, let us lift His name in praise,
Greatness dawns through Christ’s most holy ways.

On Patrick’s dawn, our hearts in chorus soar,
A vessel sent by Christ’s unyielding grace,
To emerald shores where heaven’s whispers pour,
He brought the light of Jesus’ holy face.

With staff in hand, he carved a sacred sign,
Three leaves as one, the Trinity’s embrace,
Through Christ’s own power, mercy’s pulse divine,
Awoke the isle to bloom in endless space.

The cross he lift’d outglows the greenest hue,
Its radiant arms dissolve the shadowed veil,
In Jesus’ love, all things are born anew,
A tide of life no darkness can assail.

In soaring song, we thread this timeless plea,
Of Patrick’s call and Christ’s eternity.

The poem celebrates God’s triumphant call to holiness, ringing out with the command “Be holy, for I am holy.” It rejoices in the saints’ victorious journey, their spirits ablaze with divine grace as they rise above weakness to reflect His radiant purity. With exultant steps, they follow His flawless light, conquering sin and claiming a sanctified path to mirror His sacred heart in joyous triumph.

A anthem rings through heaven’s boundless dome,
“Be holy, for I am,” the Savior cries,
With joy the saints arise from earthly loam,
Their spirits soar where victory never dies.
No chains of dust can dim their radiant cheer,
His holy fire ignites their hearts to sing,
Through every storm, his grace a banner clear,
They dance the path where freedom’s echoes ring.
He leads in triumph, pure and undefiled,
A king who crowns their souls with light divine,
Each step a shout, each trial now beguiled,
In holiness their lives with his entwine.
For he is holy, conqueror supreme,
And saints rejoice in his eternal gleam.

At War with Israel, At War with God’s Eternal Might by Debbie Harris

The sonnet warns that opposing Israel is tantamount to challenging God Himself, portraying Israel as divinely favored and invincible. Described as “the apple of God’s eye,” Israel is depicted as a nation protected by a sacred covenant and God’s unyielding power. Despite their enemies’ aggression, Israel emerges triumphant, their victories divinely ordained and enduring. The poem concludes with a call for nations to recognize Israel’s glory and bow before their unstoppable, God-backed strength.

Be at war with Israel, foes beware,
For they stand firm beneath a holy shield,
The apple of God’s eye is Israel’s prayer,
At war with God, His might shall never yield.
Their banners rise where enemies once trod,
A nation crowned with triumph’s radiant gleam,
Upheld by promises of Jacob’s God,
Their victories flow like an endless stream.
The proud assail, yet crumble in their fight,
For divine hands their battles oversee,
Through storm and fire, Israel’s star burns bright,
A testament to strength eternally.
So let the nations bow in awe and see,
God’s chosen reign in glorious victory.
