The cross ignites, a beacon fierce and grand,
Where Christ, my Victor, broke sin’s iron sway,
His blood a flood to cleanse each trembling hand,
A shout of conquest rends the dark away!
For those who shudder at the faintest stain,
He storms the void with mercy’s blazing sword,
Death’s sting lies trampled, guilt’s accusing reign,
Dissolved by light no shadow can afford!
Each fault they mourn, His glory turns to gold,
Their tender hearts, once bruised, now boldly rise,
Sin’s whispers fade, His power remolds the soul,
A radiant dawn unveils their royal guise!
Rejoice, ye sensitive, in triumph’s gleam,
God’s heirs transformed, forever pure, supreme!

Upon the hills where twilight’s shadows creep,
A shepherd roamed, his flock of ninety-nine
Secure in fold, yet one had slipped the line—
A wayward lamb lost deep in crags so steep.
Through brambles sharp and winds that wailed with might,
He trod the wild, his staff a guiding star,
Past echoing vales and streams that stretched afar,
His voice a beacon piercing endless night.

The heavens watched, their silver eyes aglow,
As o’er the cliffs he bore the trembling stray,
Its wool like snow against his mantle’s sway—
A kingly burden crowned with love to show.
Rejoice, he cried, for what was lost is found,
The one restored makes heaven’s joy abound.

Grace Eternal

Verse 1 (Gentle, Reflective)
O grace, unmerited and free,
A whisper soft through history’s plea,
In shadows deep, where sin held sway,
Thy light broke forth to lead the way.

Verse 2 (Rising, Hopeful)
Thy boundless gift, through storms unfurled,
A steadfast hope for all the world,
From chains of night, Thy hand released,
A song of mercy, love increased.

Chorus (Stately, Proclamatory)
Grace eternal, throne of might,
Crowned in mercy, robed in light,
O’er the ages, firm Thou stand,
Holding life within Thy hand.

Verse 3 (Dramatic, Exultant)
Through thunder’s roar and oceans’ cry,
Thy voice resounds, Thy name held high,
The lost are found, the blind made whole,
Thy grace redeems the wandering soul.

Chorus (Grand, Triumphant)
Grace eternal, throne of might,
Crowned in mercy, robed in light,
Heavens echo, earth replies,
Endless anthems fill the skies!

Bridge (Sublime, Soaring)
O gift divine, beyond our ken,
Thou liftest us to life again,
No tongue can tell, no heart contain,
The glory of Thy boundless reign.

Final Chorus (Majestic, Resolving)
Grace eternal, throne of might,
Crowned in mercy, robed in light,
Through the ages, evermore,
We adore Thee, we adore.

Coda (Serene, Sustained)
O grace, unmerited and free,
Forever ours, eternally.

How It Fits the Symphony

  • Verse 1: The oboe and strings carry this, tender and intimate, setting the stage.
  • Verse 2: Woodwinds and mid-range strings build momentum, introducing hope.
  • Chorus: Brass and timpani enter, bold and hymn-like, lifting the melody skyward.
  • Verse 3: Full orchestra swells, with cascading violins and thundering percussion.
  • Bridge: Harp and high strings shimmer, choir (if present) soaring in ethereal harmony.
  • Final Chorus: Everyone’s in—trumpets blaring, cymbals crashing, a wall of sound.
  • Coda: Back to a solo instrument—maybe a flute or cello—fading into serenity

Upon the mountain tops of sacred word,
We climb with fervent hearts to seek His gaze,
Where Jesus’ sight unveils a world unstirred,
By sin’s deceit or culture’s fleeting maze.
The valleys bloom with grace beneath His view,
Each peak resounds with love that never fades,
The truth, a lantern, ever burning true,
Illumes our path through mortal nights and days.
For His great glory, let our lives be sown,
A testament of mercy’s tender call,
To mirror Christ, whose heart for us was shown,
In sacrifice that ransomed one and all.
So may we stand, His light through us to shine,
A sonnet lived in truth and love divine.

Seven I Am’s: Bread, Light, Door, and Shepherd’s Reign, Life, Way, Vine to Free the Soul’s Refrain by Debbie Harris

1. “Seven I Am’s: Bread to Feed the Soul’s Refrain”

The hunger gnaws at souls adrift, alone,
Yet here a bread descends from heaven’s store,
No crust to crumble, stale upon the stone,
But life itself to feed forevermore.
Through desert hearts where famine long held sway,
A sustenance beyond the fleeting grain,
He offers all who seek him, come what may,
A feast to banish want and heal the pain.
The world may offer husks to dull the need,
But this bread fills where mortal fare falls short,
A living gift for those who dare to feed,
A table set where grace and truth consort.
So souls redeemed arise, their hymn begun,
To sing of bread that makes the many one.

2. “Seven I Am’s: Light to Brighten Night’s Dark Stain”

In shadows deep, where blindness cloaks the day,
A radiance breaks to chase the night apart,
No torch of man, no fleeting, fickle ray,
But light eternal born to guide the heart.
Through gloom of sin, where stumbling feet despair,
He shines a path the darkened cannot see,
A beam to pierce the thickest, foulest air,
And call the lost to walk in liberty.
The world’s dim lanterns flicker, fade, and die,
Yet this light holds, unyielding to the storm,
A dawn for every weary, tear-stained eye,
A glow where souls redeemed find truest form.
Their praise ascends, a song of brilliance won,
For light has triumphed where the dark once spun.

3. “Seven I Am’s: Door Where Grace and Peace Remain”

The gate stands wide, no lock to bar the way,
A portal carved from mercy’s boundless frame,
Where wanderers lost in fields of disarray
May enter safe and call upon his name.
No wall too high, no thorn too sharp to bear,
For here the shepherd bids his flock draw near,
A passage free from peril’s lurking snare,
A haven wrought through love and not through fear.
The world builds doors of iron, cold and grim,
But this one swings with grace for every soul,
A threshold crossed by faith, not fleeting whim,
Where broken lives are mended, made whole.
Redeemed, they sing of entrance freely given,
A hymn to him whose death became their living.

4. “Seven I Am’s: Shepherd Guiding Through the Pain”

The flock lies scattered, torn by wolves of night,
Yet comes a shepherd, staff in hand, to lead,
His voice a balm to calm their panicked flight,
His life laid down to meet their deepest need.
Through valleys dark, where death’s own shadow falls,
He walks ahead, his care a steady guide,
No hireling he, who flees when danger calls,
But one who knows his own and stays beside.
The world’s false guides abandon at the cost,
But this good heart seeks out the bruised, the stray,
A love so vast it finds the fully lost,
And brings them home beneath the breaking day.
Their souls, redeemed, lift praise in tender strain,
For he who died now lives to guard their gain.

5. “Seven I Am’s: Life and Rising to Regain”

The tomb looms cold, a seal on hope’s last breath,
Yet here a voice declares the grave undone,
No end remains where he defies all death,
A rising dawn where night had thought it won.
Though tears may fall and shroud the heart in gloom,
He calls the dead to wake, the bound to stand,
A power vast to break the silent tomb,
A life renewed by his almighty hand.
The world sees dust and whispers all is lost,
But this truth sings through time’s unyielding strife,
A victory won beyond the final cost,
Where faith becomes the pulse of endless life.
Redeemed, they shout a hymn no death can still,
For he is risen, bending all to will.

6. “Seven I Am’s: Way and Truth to Break the Chain”

The road is rough, with forks to lead astray,
Yet here a way unfolds, both sure and straight,
No lie can twist its course, no doubt delay,
For truth itself has opened wide the gate.
Through mazes built by hands of frail design,
He carves a path where life eternal flows,
A compass clear, a word of grace divine,
To guide the soul where only mercy knows.
The world spins tales and trails that end in dust,
But this road holds, unwavering and free,
A life beyond what mortal minds can trust,
A truth to set the captive spirit free.
Their song ascends, redeemed by his decree,
A hymn to him who charts eternity.

7. “Seven I Am’s: Vine Where Faithful Hearts Attain”

The branches wither, cut from living root,
Yet here a vine extends its verdant hold,
To bear in barren hearts abundant fruit,
A sap of life through seasons harsh and cold.
He tends the growth, with care to prune and mend,
Each tendril bound to him in perfect peace,
No wild vine this, but one that grace defends,
Where love’s own yield shall never fade nor cease.
The world’s false stems may promise fleeting bloom,
But dry to ash beneath a hollow sun,
While this true source defies the drought of doom,
And knits the soul to God till all is one.
Redeemed, they sing, their voices intertwined,
A hymn of praise to him, the living vine.

O Savior dear, we lift our voice,
In humble thanks, our hearts rejoice,
For all Thy love hath freely giv’n,
The path to grace, the hope of heav’n.

Upon the cross, Thy blood was shed,
For sinners lost, Thy life was led,
The chains of sin Thou broke apart,
And mended every wayward heart.

Triumphant rose the Son of Man,
Fulfilled the Father’s holy plan,
Death’s sting is gone, the grave undone,
Through Christ, eternal life is won.

All praise to Thee, our King divine,
Thy mercy flows, Thy glories shine,
Forevermore we’ll sing Thy name,
For all Thou hast done, we proclaim!

Heaven’s Anthem When One Repents And Becomes Redeemed by Debbie Harris

I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

Luke 15:7 (KJV)

When wayward soul, once lost in shadowed mire,
Returns with trembling steps to seek the light,
The angels pause their hymns, their wings aspire,
To weave a song of joy through endless night.
No gold nor gems could spark such pure delight,
No earthly triumph match this sacred gain,
For Heaven bends to lift the contrite’s plight,
And washes clean the scarlet stain of pain.

The stars themselves in chorus softly sing,
A sinner’s tear ignites the skies above,
Each note a thread in mercy’s golden ring,
Each chord a testament to boundless love.
So vast the glee when one lost heart is found,
Eternal halls with jubilation sound.

Purity Unbowed: The Pearl Admist The Swine by Debbie Harris

Biblical Truth, Christ Centered Devotionals, Christian Poetry

When holiness, that sacred flame, is scorned,
And purity, a pearl, is cast to swine,
The world with jester’s tongue is overworn,
Its laughter drowns the whisper of divine.
The meek are mocked, their stillness deemed a flaw,
While brazen noise ascends the gaudy throne,
Yet in their quiet hearts abides the law,
A truth unshaken, carved in timeless stone.
Though cynics sneer and shadows veil the light,
The pure endure, their radiance concealed,
For what is mocked by day burns clear at night,
In silent grace, its power is revealed.
So let the scoffers wane, their jests decay,
True holiness shall rise at break of day.

A King arrayed in wealth beyond all gold,
His riches gleam where mortal crowns grow dim,
A robe of righteousness, resplendent, bold,
Brocaded fine, with gems along its brim.

His throne adorned with opulence divine,
Each thread He weaves, a splendor none can sew,
This mantle, studded bright with jewels that shine,
He drapes on souls redeemed from sin’s dark woe.

Oh, Sovereign Lord, Thy scepter gilds the skies,
Thy bounty flows to clad the broken race,
In kingly grace, Thou bidst the lost arise,
To wear Thy garb of mercy, love, and grace.

Thy reign, a vault of treasures ever free,
Enrobes us all in holy majesty.

Ode To An Amazing Twin Brother by Debbie Harris

Dedicated to my amazing twin brother.

A mirror soul, my twin, my truest kin,
His voice a singer’s hymn to pierce the sky,
With strings and keys, a musician’s art begins,
A Renaissance of gifts where talents ply.

His pastor’s heart, a shepherd’s holy call,
Through shadowed vales, he leads with steady light,
A man of many crafts, excelling all,
He weaves our path with grace and fearless might.

Two halves, yet whole, we share a sacred flame,
His spirit lifts when mine begins to tire,
In song and sermon, he exalts Christ’s name,
A bond by Heaven’s hands set to inspire.

O twin, my brother, vast beyond compare,
