The Biblical Inversion: The Last Shall Be First – A Promise of Hidden Glory Revealed by Debbie Harris

It feels the most elegant and fitting. It keeps the famous phrase front and center, directly incorporates “biblical inversion” as you requested, and adds a sense of wonder and ultimate hope (“Hidden Glory Revealed”) that beautifully echoes the poem’s movement from obscurity and pain to triumphant exaltation. It’s poetic without being overly long, and it captures the essence of dignifying the minimized while pointing to the King’s decree.

No gentle balm, this promise cuts like flame—
A biblical inversion, wild and unafraid,
That topples every ledger carved by fame,
Where worldly crowns and loud applause will fade.

The quiet ones, the overlooked, the mocked,
Who toiled unseen through long, unthanked night’s shade,
The passed-over, belittled, slandered, blocked—
They are not lost. Their hidden weight is weighed.

The proud who clawed their way with breath and name,
Whose echoes rang on tongues that time will still,
Will stare astonished at the great reordering’s claim,
As thrones of sand dissolve beneath God’s will.

Exquisite mercy dignifies the small
Without demanding they grow loud or bright;
It whispers low: your unseen integrity stood tall,
Your endurance when no cheering crowd took flight.

The love poured out with empty hands returned,
The truth upheld though status bled away,
The small fidelities no scroll has earned—
These are the currency that heaven will repay.

Jesus proclaimed it through a hundred signs:
“Who humbles self shall rise, who exalts shall fall.”
He showed it in the vineyard’s equal lines—
Late workers paid the same as those who bore it all.

He spread the banquet wide for crippled, poor, and blind,
While first-invited turned with cold excuse;
He weighed the widow’s mites, so light, so kind,
And found them richer than the rich men’s loose.

This word will not erase the present sting—
Slander still wounds, unseen feels like slow death—
Yet it reframes the fire: your suffering can sing,
The very forge that qualifies you for first breath.

So lift your head, beloved—not in pride,
But quiet confidence beneath the King’s decree.
The last shall be first—His royal word, not a lie;
The Author delights in reversals wild and free.

The world’s loud heroes built on sinking sand;
The minimized laid stones where glory counts.
Hold fast—the story turns beneath His hand.
The night is long… but dawn of triumph mounts.

Hold fast, beloved, though the night seems long—
The great reversal thunders like a roar!
The last shall be first, exalted in His song;
Victorious, crowned, and lifted evermore!

Jesus Christ, King of Kings and Lord of Lords Is Our Greatest Wealth by Debbie Harris

Matthew 6:24
“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.” (ESV)

Matthew 6:33
“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” (ESV)

In twilight’s hush where golden shadows play,
The heart unfolds its ledger, line by line—
One column bright with coin and worldly gain,
The other veiled in light that knows no time.

“Serve not two lords,” the ancient warning cries,
For love divided splits the soul in twain;
The hand that clutches silver’s fleeting prize
Will lose the grasp that reaches heaven’s reign.

Yet fret not for the bread, the cloak, the field—
The sparrows sing, the lilies wear their best;
The Father sees each need His hand will yield
To those who lay all treasures in His chest.

O soul, arise! Let earthly lures grow dim,
Pursue the Kingdom’s pearl of matchless worth;
Seek first His face, His truth, His holy hymn—
And all things else shall bloom upon this earth.

When riches call with siren songs of rest,
Remember: only God can truly fill;
The restless heart, by weariness oppressed,
Is drawn at last to do the Father’s will.

Christ and His Word — our greatest wealth
More precious than all rubies, gold, or gem,
Is Christ Himself, the Living Word made flesh;
In Him alone true riches find their stem,
His promises a never-failing mesh.

No vault of kings, no hoard of ancient kings,
Can match the treasure stored in grace divine;
His spoken truth, like purest silver, rings—
Eternal wealth that makes the poor man shine.

So fix thine eyes beyond the fading gold,
Where moth and rust hold no destructive sway;
Christ and His Word our sovereign wealth behold—
Victorious forever, we shall soar.

Velvet Paths and Velvet Crosses: When Easy Faith Replaces the Narrow Way of Scripture by Debbie Harris

In pews of plush, where lights are soft and low,
A faith is preached that costs the soul but naught;
No narrow gate, no thorns that pierce and grow,
But velvet paths where worldly ease is sought.

“Come as you are,” the gentle voices sing,
And stay as is—no change the heart requires;
Forgiveness flows like wine from every spring,
While lust and greed wear Sunday-best attires.

The cross is hung as ornament so fine,
A symbol quaint for walls of marble white;
Yet few will take it up and make it mine,
To die to self beneath its heavy might.

For lust of eyes and flesh the sermons mute,
Or whisper soft that grace will cover all;
No call to flee the flame, no stern rebuke,
Just “God loves you” that lets the old man brawl.

The rich man sleeps in purple robes of pride,
The widow’s mite is praised but never matched;
They love the world and all its glittering tide,
While claiming Christ—yet never truly latched.

True faith, as Scripture’s blazing pages show,
Demands the whole: the heart, the mind, the will;
To hate one’s life, to let the old self go,
And follow Him up Calvary’s rugged hill.

No comfortable couch for pilgrim feet—
The road is rough, the battle fierce and long;
Yet there, in loss, the soul at last shall meet
The joy that only costly grace makes strong.

Awake, O sleeper! Cast the drowsy spell,
Renounce the lie that heaven bends to earth;
Take up your cross, and in its shadow dwell—
Rise, take the cross—let cheap faith fade and weep.

The Rotten Fruits of Satanic Deception: Immorality, Rebellion, Violence, and Perversions Versus the Christ-Centered Fruit of the Spirit – Know the Difference, for the Enemy Comes as an Angel of Light to Deceive Many and Send Souls to Hell by Debbie Harris

Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

2 Corinthians 11:14
And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.

In gardens deep where shadows play,
Two trees arise at break of day.
One whispers sweet with stolen light,
The other stands in truth’s pure height.

The first bears fruit of Satan’s art—
Deception cloaked in angel’s heart.
Rotten at core, though fair to see:
Immorality in finery,
Rebellion’s pride that scorns the throne,
Violence that breaks the meekest bone,
Perversions twisted, dark and vile,
That lure the soul with honeyed guile.
“Freedom!” it cries, yet binds in chains;
“Light!” it beams, but endless pains.
The angel of light, with lying tongue,
Deceives the many—old and young—
Leads wanderers down the wide, smooth road,
To flames eternal, heavy load.
Its harvest rots before the eyes,
Breeds hatred, chaos, hollow cries.

But lo! The Tree of Calvary’s grace,
Rooted in Christ, in holy place.
Its branches heavy, ripe, and true,
Bear Spirit’s fruit for me and you:
Love that forgives and heals the deep,
Joy that sings though trials steep,
Peace that guards the troubled mind,
Patience in storms, serene and kind.
Kindness that serves without a score,
Goodness that shines forevermore,
Faithfulness that holds the line,
Gentleness like Master’s vine,
Self-control that tames the wild—
These fruits make pure the Father’s child.

Oh, know the difference, soul awake!
Test every spirit for heaven’s sake.
The enemy’s mask is bright and bold,
But leads to death in chains of gold.
The Christ’s own fruit brings life and light,
Transforms the dark to morning bright.
Choose well the tree your hands will tend—
Eternal harvest without end.

Discern the roots by what they yield:
Rotten ruin or Spirit-filled.
For many walk the deceiver’s path,
Yet narrow way escapes the wrath.
Abide in Him, the True Vine strong,
And bear good fruit where you belong.
