“ Power’s Many Faces” is a vivid, image-rich poem that contrasts four types of power through distinct, sensory-loaded stanzas, each with an AABB rhyme scheme and 8-10 syllables per line. Here’s a summary of its content and imagery:

  1. Redeemed Servant-Led Power (Stanza 1): Depicts a humble, nurturing power as a “lantern sways in dawn’s soft veil,” weaving through souls like a “breeze so frail.” It heals the broken with gentle hands, culminating in a “glowing bloom, a starlight token,” symbolizing hope and kindness.
  2. Unredeemed Greedy Power (Stanza 2): Portrays a destructive, selfish power with a “vulture’s glare in moonless dark,” tearing at wealth with a “ravenous spark.” It traps the weary in “rusted chains,” leaving a “hollow crown” that no soul inherits, evoking desolation.
  3. Ego-Driven Power (Stanza 3): Illustrates vain, fleeting power as a “peacock prances on a throne of glass,” reflected in “mirrored walls” with a “fleeting flash.” It burns brightly but collapses into “ashes,” its “fleeting reign” forgotten, highlighting impermanence.
  4. Listening to Lies Power (Stanza 4): Describes deceptive power as a “serpent coils in brambles thick with deceit,” whispering through mist where “truths retreat.” Its “crooked trail” with “thorns that sever” leads to a starless “night,” symbolizing betrayal and loss.
  5. Closing Couplet: Summarizes the contrast: “Each power shines, distinct in shade, / One lifts the soul, three cut like blades,” emphasizing the uplifting nature of servant-led power against the destructive force of the others.

Redeemed servant led power,
A lantern sways in dawn’s soft veil,
It weaves through souls, a breeze so frail,
In gentle hands, it heals the broken,
Its glowing bloom, a starlight token.

Unredeemed greedy power,
A vulture’s glare in moonless dark,
It tears at wealth, a ravenous spark,
In rusted chains, it binds the spirit,
Its hollow crown, no soul shall inherit.

Ego-driven power,
A peacock prances on a throne of glass,
Its mirrored walls reflect a fleeting flash,
A blaze that roars, then falls to ashes,
Its fleeting reign, through time it crashes.

Listening to lies power,
A serpent coils in brambles thick with deceit,
It whispers through mist, where truths retreat,
Its crooked trail, with thorns that sever,
Leads hearts to night, where stars shine never.

Each power shines, distinct in shade,
One lifts the soul, three cut like blades.

Summary of “The Triumphant Triune God, Eternal Hero of Our Redemption’s Story”

The poem celebrates the Triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—as the eternal hero of a divine narrative. It begins with God’s creation, weaving light and life from nothingness. Despite humanity’s fall into sin, the Son’s incarnation and sacrifice on the cross bring redemption, while the Spirit restores and ignites the soul. The Triune God triumphs over darkness and despair, wielding truth and love as weapons. The poem portrays God as an ever-present, victorious hero, reigning from creation to eternity, with vivid imagery of mercy, glory, and salvation. It conveys gratitude for God’s unending grace and sovereignty, affirming His role as the ultimate champion of the human story.

In the tapestry of time, where stars weave their gleam,
The Triune God emerges, in glory’s expanse.
Father, Son, Spirit—eternal Three in One,
The hero of the story, whose will is never done.

From the void’s deep silence, His voice spun the light,
Galaxies unfurled in the womb of the night.
A scepter of mercy, a crown of flame,
The Father’s decree burns, unyielding, the same.

Through the dust of Eden, His breath gave us form,
Yet we fell to shadows, to sin’s bitter storm.
But the Son, the Word, donned flesh as His cloak,
Walked the earth’s sharp thorns where redemption awoke.

On a cross of splinters, His blood painted grace,
Each drop a new stanza, redeeming the race.
The Spirit, like fire, weaves life through the soul,
A wind that ignites, making broken hearts whole.

In the heart’s quiet meadow, where fears darkly creep,
The Triune God battles, His promises keep.
With a sword of truth, He carves paths through despair,
His love is the anthem that shatters the air.

No dragon too fierce, no abyss too wide,
For the Hero of heroes, with us to abide.
From the dawn of creation to eternity’s shore,
The Triune God reigns, our King evermore.

Rich in imagery, His story unfolds,
In colors of mercy, in glories untold.
Always the victor, always the way,
The Triune God, hero, forever our stay.

The sonnet Triumphant Praise, inspired by Psalm 71:8, celebrates unwavering devotion and exultation of divine glory. It portrays the speaker’s ceaseless praise through vivid imagery: lips as a fountain, morning rays, starry crowns, blazing glory, thundering mountains, roaring oceans, and a radiant throne. The poem conveys a victorious spirit, depicting God’s splendor, strength, and mercy as eternal and unshakable. Each stanza emphasizes continuous worship, with the speaker’s heart and tongue proclaiming divine majesty all day, culminating in reverence for a glorious, loving King.

“My mouth is filled with your praise, declaring your splendor all day long.” (Psalm 71:8, NIV)

My lips, a fountain, pour thy boundless praise,
Thy splendor gleams where morning’s rays ignite,
A crown of stars adorns thy holy ways,
Thy glory blazes through the veil of night.

From mountain peaks to valleys deep and wide,
Thy name resounds in thunder’s mighty call,
The oceans roar, their waves thy strength abide,
Thy mercy lifts the weary from their fall.

Each dawn I sing, my heart a victor’s flame,
No shadow dims the radiance of thy throne,
The heavens shout, exalting thy great name,
Thy love, a fortress, carved in living stone.

All day my tongue thy majesty shall trace,
O King of glory, robed in endless grace.
