Dear Reader,

These lines were written in a darkening hour, when many who love the Lord look upon the land they once knew and grieve. Faith, freedom, and family—once the common inheritance of this people—now seem to recede like a tide. Yet the same Word that warned of such days also promises a greater hope: the Savior who walks with us still, and the blessed hope of His appearing.

I offer this poem not as a final word, but as a companion for the watching and the waiting. Come what may, we stand. And until the trumpet sounds, may these verses strengthen your resolve to hold fast the truth as it is in Jesus.

In Christ,
The Poet

1 Thessalonians 4:16–17
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

1 Corinthians 15:51–52
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Titus 2:13
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.

John 14:3
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Matthew 28:20
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Hebrews 13:5
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Isaiah 41:10
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Ephesians 6:13–14
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness.

2 Timothy 3:14–16
But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

1 Corinthians 15:58
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Jude 1:3
Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

2 Timothy 3:1–4
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God.

Matthew 24:12
And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

Luke 21:28
And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Lord, though we weep for the land we once knew,
Where faith, freedom, and family stood true,
Amid the turmoil our Savior still walks,
And quietly listens whenever we talk.

He does not leave us to weather the night;
His presence remains as our comfort and light.
Though shadows may deepen and tempests may roar,
We rest in the knowledge He’s with us once more.

And greater still rises the hope of the call—
The rapture that gathers His own, one and all.
In a moment, a twinkling, the trumpet shall sound,
And we shall be lifted from this weary ground.

Till then, come what may, we will stand for the Lord,
And hold fast the truth of His Holy Word.
No shifting of culture, no pressure or fear
Shall silence the Gospel or cause us to veer.

So let the world darken and nations decline;
Our eyes are set higher, our hope is divine.
We weep, yet we watch; we wait, yet we stand—
With Christ at our side and His Word in our hand.

**To God be the glory always and only.
