The poem, titled “Jesus Christ, King of Kings, Rules Forever”, inspired by Psalm 97:1, celebrates the sovereign reign of Jesus Christ. It depicts the earth and distant shores rejoicing in His holy and eternal rule. Nature—mountains, skies, and waves—responds with awe and praise, reflecting the joy and reverence of creation under Christ’s unending, just dominion.
Psalm 97:1 – The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice. NIV
The Lord reigns, sovereign and true,
The earth hums soft, with joy anew.
Mountains stand in awe, skies proclaim,
His holy, unending, glorious name.
Distant shores lift songs of praise,
Waves dance bright in golden rays.
Creation bows, its heart ablaze,
For God’s just rule shall never fade.
