The sonnet, titled “Gleams of Grace in Chandeliers of Dazzling Splendor and Bulbs of Quiet Divinity From Hall to Heavenly Throne”, explores various lights—back hall’s gentle glow, a dazzling chandelier, a piercing spotlight, and a humble bulb—as metaphors for lives shining for Jesus. Each light, distinct yet united, reflects His grace and love, illuminating different paths. The poem highlights Christ’s sovereign power to transform any light, from modest to magnificent, according to His divine plan, ultimately reshaping all to glorify Him.
The back hall’s gentle, ever-faithful light,
A chandelier of dazzling, jeweled display,
The spotlight’s piercing, heaven-guided might,
A humble light bulb’s warm and modest ray.
Each glow, though shaped by different hands, aligns,
To honor Jesus, Lord of endless gleam,
Through corridors or grandest of designs,
His love ignites the flicker and the beam.
At any moment, by His sacred choice,
He turns the meek to brilliance unforeseen,
A bulb to chandelier—His sovereign voice—
Or back hall’s whisper where the lost convene.
For Christ ordains each radiance to rise,
His will reshapes our glow before His eyes.
