O what glad and joyous greetings rise,
When in prayer we seek our Savior’s face,
To speak, to ponder, plead beneath His skies,
To grieve, repent, and bask in boundless grace.
To worship, learn His holy, tender ways,
To dwell within His presence, unmatched, divine—
O what jubilant welcome crowns our days,
When Christ, our Lord, bids us to intertwine!
A privilege rare, a blessing deep and sweet,
This joy of prayer, where mortal meets the King,
In fellowship with Him, our hearts replete,
His glorious love makes every soul take wing.
