And Jesus said unto him, “The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man hath nowhere to lay His head.”

Matthew 8:21 (KJV)

Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

I Timothy 5: 6-12 (KJV)

Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.

Matthew 19:23-24 (KJV)

There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day.  At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores. The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried.  In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side.  So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’ “But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’

Luke 16 19: 19-15 (NIV)

My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons. For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment; 3and ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool: are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts? Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him? But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats? Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called? If ye fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself, ye do well: but if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.

James 2:1-9 (KJV)

Does our precious Savior

bless the redeemed? Yes

sometimes with plenty,

sometimes with trial and

want! But too many greedy,

deluded prosperity believers

use this to shame other

precious believers who

follow Jesus with all their

hearts and are prosperous

in their relationship with

Jesus Christ but not in

the wealth of this world!

They are unmercifully judged

by carnal Christians who

have been misguided and

misled that wealth is always

a sign of God’s favor. The

enemy laughs with glee

when this is what we believe!

Royally redeemed do we look at the

kind of car one drives, the clothes

one wears, the house one lives in,

the beauty of an outside appearance,

whether they have a pool, a three

car garage, or not? Lord have mercy!

Or do we as the truly redeemed

look at the beauty of their redeemed

soul and realize that they are absolutely

adored by their Triune God, as are all

truly redeemed Children of Yahweh!

O modern church of Laocidea instead

of looking for how rich someone is, may

we look for kindness, loyalty, faithfulness,

character, humility, Christ-likeness, and

the blessed Holy, Christ-given fruits of

the Holy Spirit, and a hunger for the

Holy, precious inerrant Words of our God!

O Lord, Yahweh, Jehovah, tender, forgiving,

merciful, Shepherd of us all, preserve us

all from the carnality, prosperity gospel,

materialism, and status symbols of this

age that judges a precious, redeemed, royal

soul by what one looks like or owns! Oh Lord,

forgive us all for such greedy, heinous,

arrogant, worldly, and grievous sins!
