Jesus Is Always In Our Midst by Debbie Harris

Jesus_160 calming the winds and the waves

Through tempests fierce, where winds and waters roar,
The waves of life rise high with restless might,
Our fragile bark is tossed from shore to shore,
Yet in the gale, a figure cloaked in light.
There Jesus stands, amid the storm’s wild fray,
His voice cuts through the howling, bitter din,
To every surge and squall, He turns to say,
“Peace, be still,” and stills the chaos within.
The winds grow hushed, the seas lie soft and tame,
A holy calm descends where fear once reigned,
His presence near, a balm for every name,
A harbor sure, by grace forever gained.
So through our storms, though dark the skies may be,
He speaks, and peace flows boundless, full, and free.

Like A Perpetual Sunrise, Christ Our LORD by Debbie Harris

Sunrise-and-Clouds1

When gem-bright words from God’s own mighty hand,
Fill heart and soul with gleams of sacred fire,
His smile, a grace no mortal can withstand,
Ignites our lives with heaven’s pure desire.
In Christ, our King, the risen prism glows,
A light that floods both inner depths and skies,
His beauty reigns where freedom’s river flows,
A triumph born where mortal shadow dies.
No dawn need wait, no dusk can dim His ray,
For He, our sunrise, evermore abides,
Before our hearts, in victory’s bright array,
The Lord of Lords in resplendence presides.
Through Him, our days with endless truth are spun,
Eternal grace, our never-setting Son.

Jesus_147 holding lamb

When bitter words and deeds like tempests tear,
A redeemed soul to trembling knees is thrown,
The Savior swift descends through grief’s despair,
His warrior heart claims them as His own.
With tender hands, He binds each wounded space,
Defends with might, a shield from every foe,
His royal grace lifts high the weeping face,
A comfort deep where silent sorrows grow.
Beside His child, the King of mercy kneels,
His tears entwine with theirs in sacred streams,
A love so vast, no pain outstrips its heals,
A dawn of hope through shattered, fading dreams.
In brokenness, His presence ever near,
He raises up with strength and dries each tear.

I Will Joyfully And Exuberantly Follow You O Lord! by Debbie Harris

Jesus_109 smiling

With joyful heart, I follow Thee, my Lord,
Through every breath, in every fleeting day,
Through rain that falls, through storms that fiercely roar,
Through lightning’s flash, I’ll dance upon Thy way.
In sickness’ chill, in joy’s exultant gleam,
Through pain’s sharp sting, through sorrow’s heavy veil,
Triumph’s bright song, or trials’ shadowed stream,
My spirit sings, Thy love shall never fail.
In need’s lean hour, in plenty’s golden tide,
Through fall’s descent, through winter’s icy breath,
Spring’s tender bloom, or summer’s sunlit stride,
I’ll chase Thy grace through all my living days.
Exuberant, through moments grand or small,
I’ll rise with Thee, my King, above it all.
